Just you need to remove memory slot cover off of back side Laptop.
once you remove the cover now you can replace your RAM.
but you need to make sure how much RAM is supported by your Laptop otherwise you might be experiencing problems after replacement of it.

It only beeps nothing works but the inside light

Do the process of elimination to troubleshoot your problem:
1. Locate your memory modules and re-seat them or make sure they're pushed down properly to the memory bank. If you have a couple of the memory module, try it with only one memory installed and so on.
2. If you have an add-on video card, remove it, use the on-board video.
3. All other add-on hardware installed, must be removed and once you find the culprit, you can put them back on again.

Hope this helps!

One memory works on my gateway Lx6801

hi
the one working stick of memory needs to be put into the first memory bank.these are normally 2 coloured different to the other 2.make sure they are securely in place. plastic clips lock into memory stick.once done while power lead is removed turn on at tower.this will clear memory.plug back in and give it a try,if ok add another stick of memory although you said the other three sticks don't work give it a try they may work and save you a fortune.

How do you access the memory slots on an acer aspire z3731

Memory Sockets or Slots are the place where memory RAM modules are inserted in the motherboard. The Acer Aspire Z3731 has 4 (4 banks of 1) memory expansion slots. A memory bank is a group of memory expansion sockets, a bank must be completely filled with memory modules of the same size and type in order for the system to recognize and address the memory. i.e. :
2 sockets (2 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 2 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
3 sockets (3 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 3 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
4 sockets (2 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 4 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
8 sockets (4 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 8 memory slots. These are divided into 4 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
12 sockets (3 banks of 4) This indicates that there are 12 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of four memory slots. So you must add memory four pieces at a time (and they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.

Everytime i turn on my pc,it beeps 3x(1long then 2short),then black screen so i have to reboot again

Hi,

Here are the following steps you can try to fix this issue, ive experienced it myself using a dell PC and it works on my end.

You have what is called a No Post No Video Situation.

1: The Modem can cause a No Post No Video. Pull it and see what happens.
If it still does not boot. Strip the System down with nothing on the Board but Power Supply Processor and Fans.
This Includes All Memory, All Cards, All IDE Cables. Hook just the Power up and See if you get Memory Error Codes ( Beep Codes ). If you Do ( And you Should ) then Reseat the Memory ONLY. If you dont more than Likely it is the Power Supply or Motherboard.
If Reseating the Memory back in Memory Bank 0 causes a No Post. Pull the Memory and put the Memory in Bank 1. If it Post then Bank 0 is bad on the Motherboard. If it Dont, You Need Memory. If you have more than 1 stick then try with one or the other and make sure one of them is not bad. If it is Rambus Memory you will need to add both sticks, because Rambus is Required for Pair.
If in Bank 0 the System Posts, add the Video Card and connect the Power and Monitor. You should get Post and Video. If you do not, Video Card is bad.
From there add the Hard Drive IDE and Boot the System. If it does not boot then try the IDE Cable in the CDROM Controller and see what happens. If it Boots then the Controller on the Motherboard is bad. If it Causes a No Post No Video, Hard Drive is Bad.
From there Add One IDE Back at a time and make sure it is none of those drives or Controllers. If you find that one of the Drives is causing a No Post No Video, Try a Known Good Drive. If it Posts and Boots. The Drive is Bad. If it Dont, The Controller on the Motherboard is bad.
After that Add one card back at a time. Find out which one is causing the Issue. Sometimes Reseating everything works fine. If none of these work then You May have Either a Bad Power Supply or a Bad Processor. Also dont forget that you may have had a Surge or Storm and May have Caused a the Motherboard to get damaged.
Dell has a Good Artical on Steps to do for this at http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document.asp?DN=TI1014149

Vaio fz-35g not booting, beeping 3 times. one long, two short. i assume that it is Video Controller Failure or faulty add-on card. dont know what to do it was working fine the day b4. put it to sleep and...

Your computer has memory problems. First check video. If video is working, you'll see an error message. If not, you have a parity error in your first 64K of memory. First check your SIMM's. Reseat them and reboot. If this doesn't do it, the memory chips may be bad. You can try switching the first and second banks memory chips. First banks are the memory banks that your CPU finds its first 64K of base memory in. You'll need to consult your manual to see which bank is first. If all your memory tests good, you probably need to buy another motherboard.
