There are a variety of ways to connect to the Internet or a home/business network using your Hewlett-Packard (HP) desktop computer---via a modem, Ethernet cable and even wirelessly.
A wireless connection works by sending a signal from your modem or router to your HP desktop's built-in wireless radio.

In order for the signal to be received by your HP desktop, you must enable the wireless radio within the computer's configuration.

If you can't navigate the printer menus when its stuck, I don't think theres anything else you can do but unplug it and try to update the firmware to solve this kind of a problem, Il look into the firmware

Verify that the radio is enabled.
It is possible to disable the transmitter of the wireless card without Device Manager showing any problems.

If you have a laptop and it has built in wireless adapter, it may have a switch or a button that you need to switch on in to turn on the wireless connection radio. Usually, it can be found on the sides or on the front panel of the laptop. On other laptops, you will need to hit some combination of keys on the laptop's keyboard to turn on the wireless connection radio, for example, Fn+F5. Please refer to the manual of your laptop for reference on how to turn on or enable its wireless radio.

By the way, what is the model of your laptop?

There is no button on these, there is a setting in the wireless configurator that allows you to enable/disable the radio. Make sure the radio is enabled. Radio throws most people, all it is is the wireless card. The card works on frequency, so therefore is considered a radio, confusing, I know. If the radio is enabled or it still doesn't work after enabling it, you may have a driver glitch, then uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager, and reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers. This should get you up and running.
