Question about Whirlpool LTE5243D Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

Cold cycle does not work

Here's a strange issue that I'm hoping someone can help solve:

When the water temp cycle is on Cold/Cold, the washer does not work at all. As soon as I change it to Warm or Hot, it works fine. If I choose Warm/Cold, the cycle stops when it reaches the Cold part.

Here's the strange part -- I have the console control panel flipped down. If I start the Cold cycle while the console is flipped down, the cycle begins. As soon as I start to move the panel back to upright position, the cycle stops. I'm suspecting a short somewhere but I'm not sure. Help??

cold cycle does not work. my unit is a little older and does not have a flip down door. it will wash fine on warm or hot but nothing on cold.i only get hot water on the warm cycle. I've rigged it using a two way into the hot fill line and just run it on warm/warm but it's just a quick fix. any help in fixing this would be great. thanks

Hey thats crazy.anyway first things first.water passes through the fill the valve[ where the black fill hoses attach to your washer] are screens that stop minerals from going into the valve itsself and blocking up the valve internaly.i know its going tobe tough[trust me i've done 100s]but its how your complaint is solved 99 out of 100 turn off the water remove the cold hose and clean the cold fill screen.also while the hose is off flush it into a bucket or the washer tub[wont hurt a thing]make sure you put the screen back into the next time valve wont get harmed.if the screen is clean and you have water at the cold facuet at the could have a bad valve.that would be a voltage check.we wont go there now.if you still need help you can email me thru fixya.hope this helps. God bless ,tom

Is it possible to modify the water temps that are preset to the types of cycles? Casual is warm/cold and Heavy Duty is hot/cold. I would like to do cold/cold but it won't let me

You could connect cold to both hot and cold washer connections by using a hose wye fitting . If the hot and cold supply faucets both open together you will have to cap the hot faucet. Hope this helps.

My whirlpool cabrio washer shows LF code

Verify inlet water valve is functioning correctly by selecting each temp while machine is running. Usually COLD temps will run just
ever-so-slightly faster than HOT temp and WARM temp will run faster than both temps separately. Rinse cycle is usually COLD water so i'd suspect the COLD side is malfunctioning. Hope this helps. If not let me know.

I have an Asea 1200 Dish Washer and I have a problem with the hot water.i have found the hot water is not entering the machine even though the temp: is set to 70 max:what can be the problem and how can I...

Make sure the washer water line is hooked to the hot water supply line in the house. If it takes a while to get hot water when you turn on the sink faucet, it will take longer to bring hot water to the washer due to the lower flow volume. If you bring hot water to the faucet first, then start the machine, it should solve this problem. The washer's heater should then raise the temperature to final requirements. Hope this helps!

Pulsating water in the hot water cycle

id be curious as to the age of this machine, because the newer models have what teh call adaptive water temp sensors that will optimize the water temp automatically.. your hot water may be "too hot" and your cold can be "too cold" and the valve corrects to a preset temp. this sounds like whats happening

I recently bought a Whirlpool duet front load washer. It was not working properly, not completing the wash cycle, it would just stop after about 10 minutes. After many questions/solutions, I was told today...

HE machines can be touchy and you have an interesting question. I'd say if you have it set to cold /cold there is no reason it won't work but with all the sensors and accurate temps I could be wrong. I am going to research this further but I will probably not get back to you till next week I hope you solve the problem and thank you for teaching me in the process! My answer at this point is if you have it set for cold /cold it shoud work. Please let me know if you find out.

No Cold Water Wash; Only Hot

When doing a hot wash the machine is designed to take both hot and cold water. This is because it can heat the water to your selected temperature but if the water coming in is too hot it needs to cool it down to avoid heat damage to your laundry.
Hope this helps & thanks for using Fixya.

washer may not be detecting water temp but water flow ..if you never use hot water may try hooking cold water to a Y-connector and then hooking to both hot and cold inlet valves ..however it is also possible washer is detecting inlet temps in which case you're out of luck ..i suspect the latter

Temperature Control Problem

is washer less than a year old? if so call reapir ..there was an issue with the temp controls on a small number of those machines they use an electronic control in what looks like a mechanical switch..if over a yr old could still be a temp switch but be sure hoses are connected correctly and on a rinse cycle the water does come in hot ..don't worry too much about wash cycles temp is controlled to to prset temps and is based on final water temp in tub after fill not incoming water temp
