SOURCE: The systemax computer has no power at all I

Try to remove the system parts one by one, & each time try to power it up. If after you removed one part the system powers up, then discard this part as it will be the cause of the problem & replace it with a new part. Keep the motherboard, RAM & graphics adapter till you have removed all the other parts.

What power supply can be compatible for this model?

Hi,
A good brand P4 Power Supply (24-Pin) of 350-450 Watts is generally used and sufficient for it.
I recommend a good reputable brand power supply unit

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Ptowreplaced power supply worked 2 days now well not power up aagain

It is possible that you might be overloading your power supply unit. Go to this website and calculate how many watts you need for your system. You just have to select the components in your system from the drop down menus and it will calculate your power requirement.
http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
After getting your power requirement (in Watts), replace your power supply with a unit rated at least the recommended PSU wattage. Also note that cheap power supplies usually do not reflect the true wattage output on their labels. Try to get a power supply unit from reputable PSU manufacturers like Antec, Coolermaster, Thermaltake or Corsair.

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF SMPS

Hello Mkmanishbit2 hi, SMPS means switch mode power supply. The capacity of an SMPS unit is from 200 watts to 1500 watts, and some can be 2000 watts. Now for your Gigabyte Motherboard, a standard 350 watts unit will do, for medium end gaming, 500 watts will be enough, and for high end gaming, use the 800 to 1500 watts unit. Reminder the higher the watts number the higher the price, but the safer it becomes.

My power supply is making a tweeting noise. Is it about to go or what?

Replace the power supply. Also clean all dust out of the unit, do not let fans spin up with any air pressure. Consider replacing all fans, they just fail over time...

Wont boot up or start - cpu fan does spin but switches off

You seem to have a lot of hardware in there, so trying to remove some items to lighten the Power Load was a good idea - but maybe too late.

Check your Power Supply - I suspect that you will need around 550 Watts or more. If you can put in another Power Supply (after disconnecting as many drives etc as you can) see if the problem re-occurs.

If it does not, then your Power Supply is failing and will need to be replaced (with a 550 Watt or above PS Unit). I would personnally think that a 700 Watt unit would be ideal if it were my machine.

Yeah, I know you said you replaced the Power Supply but didn't say if everything was reconnected nor what size Power Supply Unit you put in.

Good luck.

Yes you can replace the old defective power supply with the new atx but the problem is the size. It the size it fit to your computer nothing to worry because power supply now is almost the same output only the wattages changes.

Systemax ascent won't stay powered on

I recommend that you replace the PSU, Power Supply Unit with a new one, this is a simple task. Remove the plug from Motherboard remove the four screws from the PSU at rear and get a replacement one say a 450 Watt job. Install and ya be good to go.
