Question about Jandy LAARS LX250 - PROPANE, DIGITAL READ-OUT, LOW NOX
I've had this problem for over 2 years on the Laars model LX250.
Several repairs were done by quailfied professionals licensed and trained techs. on the above unit and none had fixed the problem. Because of all the expenditures I paid, I fired the same company I been dealing with for many years. I did some homework on my own and found all I kept paying for was just for process and elimination work and useless labor done. I could'nt afford continuing paying and wasting money. Finally I did some homework on my owm and discovered some repairs were'nt necessary. My unit says "Service - AGS" code is still lit. "Hi limit 135F & 150F", "Harness high limit switch" "Flame sense rod" were all replaced. Filter cleaned, water flow and pressure check, pump working perfectly and gas flow all checked by new friend in the same field and "AGS" code is still lit. These techs all can't stay long enough to wait until they see the problem lit after 20 to 30 mins after each repair is done. I know, cause I've seen it for my self, they do not have the patience to wait and will charge me more to come back. What else can be done. PLEASE HELP. I'm about to pull this unit out.

AGS automatic gas shut down
which means you have ignition failure, which can be from low gas pressure, or volume. if the heater fires then goes out the signal is not going back to the control module check all wiring.

AGS stands for Automatic Gas Shutoff. This means the heater failed to sense a flame or flame rectification. When this occurs, the the gas valve will close as a safety precaution. The heater will have to be reset to get another call for heat.
