Question about Fujitsu fi-4120C Path-Through Scanner
I was given this scanner along with a copy of the drivers.
I searched the web and found that I need to install the Twain and Isis drivers. I only had the Twain on the disk so I searched for Isis online and installed that.
But then I found out that I also needed ScandAll 21 and I am having trouble finding it. I did find a file at https://www.orbitfiles.com/download/id3516088605.html
But when I was not able to open it after downloading it.
To make things even more complicated, I read in an Amazon review of the scanner that I also need to install USB drivers. ???
After installing the Twain drivers I was able to see that Scanner Utility for Microsoft Windows had been installed, but according to the manual I downloaded, I should be able to see the scanner on a scanner list there. It isn't there.
Any help would be appreciated. I've lost a few nights already trying to solve this issue on my own to no avail.
Thanks for reading.
If this device is connected via Parallel, you'll need to enable ECP mode for the parallel port in your BIOS. Consult your computer's users manual. If it IS hooked up with USB, and you have the drivers, are you running Windows XP? If so, you should be OK. When you plug th device in a Found New Hardware window should come up if the device isn't already installed. Point it in the direction of the drivers folder and it should pick it up. Who knows, maybe they gave it to you because it couldn't communicate?
On XP: go to Start-> Run and type in Devmgmt.msc and hit OK.
Do you see any question marks/exclamation marks in the window that comes up? If so, try right clicking on the item and Update Driver from the folder with the scanner's drivers. It might be one of those devices. If not, the unit may be busted.

Error code 8 means the SCSI fuse is blown off. This alarm is detected during initial processing immediately after power-on.
- Defective SCSI cable
- Other SCSI device malfunction
Check if the SCSI cable or other SCSI devices connected to the scanner cause this error. The scanner can work even after this error occurs.
If the issue persists, you may have to contact Authorised Fujitsu Engineer to rectify the error.
