Question about Panasonic PT-40LC12 40" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Lamp on Panasonic PT-40LC12 will not reset.

I have lived with this problem for about two years. I have pressed the recall and volume down button (remote / on set control as recommended by panasonic) to no avial. I believe there must be a lamp sensory module some place that is fualty.
Panasonic's support once they sell a set is almost nill. I have also cleaned inside the lamp housing and the "transfer lens" to the right of the lamp. I can temporarily get rid of the messagge with recall. I note others here have posted this problem in the passed. MTIA

You may want to try to do a hard reset, the way you do that is, you turn your tv on, and unplug it while it is on, after 15 seconds, plug back in, should turn itself back on, if not turn it on, and see if it is gone, if it isnt gone, you will have to look online for the code to get into the service menue, there will be another reset in there, that should definatly get rid of it.

Go to "Service Mode Map" by pressing the "Volume down" button key on the front panel and "TV/Video" button key on the remote control at the same time and hold it for more than 5 seconds. You can now reset/change the value of lamp operation time.

Lamp meter on Panasonic PT-40LC12 ?

I just had my picture go out two weeks ago. I took it to a local tv repair shop. They replaced the thermal fuse. I also had a spare lamp so they also replaced that. I'm not sure if they reset the lamp meter but this is what I found surfing around...try at your own risk. I'm going to try this when I go home tonight.

Good Luck...

Press the power button to turn the unit on.
While pressing the Vol-(volume down) button on the projection display,
hold down the PIP button on the remote control at the same time for more
than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete the following message
will appear on the screen. "Lamp time was reset to 0".
