Question about Olympus Stylus 1010 Digital Camera
Hi! my Olympus Stylus 1010 camera has worked very well for me for the past year, but recently I have noticed that when I turn off the camera I get a flashing screen displaying the date and time....it flashes on and off....and does so until the battery is drained. I would like to not have to recharge the battery after every single day I use it....I have explored the camera menu to attempt to remove the screen myself but to no avail.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: I have the date on
Normally many cameras do not have date printing in its feature ..... while there wud a date setting ..... still try in your menu if there is any time or date stamping feature that needs to be turned on

If you have the user manual you can refer to page 33 where it talks about the All Erase function. Or you can just format the memory card which is a permanent deletion of all of the images that have been written to the memory card.

There seems to be some problem with the lens system. If it was dropped or had an impact when the lens was extended, then the possibility is great that damage has affected the lens system. This could be off track, broken parts, or something which is jammed.
You may try this (which could cause more damage) ..as the camera is turned on pull or push on the lens and gently try to turn from side to side as pulling a dn pushing. This may put the lens back on track, if that is the problem.
Other wise, sell it as parts on a site such as Ebay.

Yes, by formatting the card. In fact, you should format the card each time you finish downloading your pics to your computer. This will prevent future problems with the card.
You'll find "Memory Format" at the top of the Setup menu.
