Question about Acer AL1715 17" LCD Monitor

Acer AL 1715 monitor flashes 2x and dies

When I turn on the monitor it flashes a white screen twice and then does not start. When flashing the green light is on. After flashing a yellow light is on. The screen does not work after this.

LCD panels use cold-cathode fluorescent bulbs to make the light necessary for them to show images. What you're describing is something I've seen in panels where the bulbs were dying or dead. it's also possible that the controller for the bulbs is also on the fritz.

Flashing green light and monitor wont start


There are one or two capacitors that open in the power supply, sometimes it will have a bulge at the top, making it easy to spot.

ACER AL1706 powering up, green power light flashes once a second, faint 'flicker' on screen, eventually starts up with the Acer logo, and runs normally.


You may have dying power supply due to bad DC filter caps.

Flat sceen monitors, no sound


did you hook up the sound cable to the computer? and is the sound not muted in the on screen display?

I think you have loose cabling somewhere. Try to unplug (and untangle) the video cables and then plug them all back together firmly. If this does not work and you know your machine is booting up properly, you might have damaged the monitor somehow accidentally.
