Question about Philips Brilliance 151AX Monitor

2 Answers

Flashing Monitor Monitor periodiclly flashes with, I want to say brite light to black. You can see the screen very breifly behind the flashing. There doesn't seem to be any pattern or particular thing that triggers this. When it first started I could Ctrl Alt Delete and that would stop it. We thought maybe it was a game that my sister bought ,but we have been playing that game for months and nothing happened. In fact we had both gotten to the same point in the game an could not advance any farther. (Hot Lava Mumbo Jumbo 7 Wonders of the Ancient World). Now the only way I can stop it is to turn off my computer the hard way. Is my monitor going bad? It's pretty old or is this a hard drive problem. Hope you can help me. Thank you Phyllis Brandt

Substitute monitor to find out. I doubt it  is a hard drive problem. It could be a video card problem. Borrow a monitor or get an old CRT one (available for almost nothing now) We pay to have then removed or desposed of in our city. If the substitute monitor does nto do it then it is the monitor going bad, as you say. If the substitute one als flashes I woud go for the video card.  If video card happens to be an "On Board: type consider buying one to install in  a open slot..

WHY IS THE GREEEN POWER BUTTON FLASHING ON MY MONITER AND THE SCREEN THEN GOWS BLACK

When the power light is flashing the monitor is not getting a stable signal. This is hard to answer without direct troubleshooting. Check the cables first, make sure they are connected securely. If you still have problems test another monitor you know works or move monitor to a computer you know works, this will determine if the monitor is the problem or not and tell you if it is your "graphics port or adapter". If another monitor works fine, use the working cables to test the "broken" monitor. If you have an "all-in-one" computer, ignore the above steps and use a start-up repair disk. The reason this is hard to troubleshoot is there are so many things to diagnose. More than likely your "graphics card" is failing. These are some tricks to repair. You can update the driver, buy a graphic card separate from the stock port.

Flashing green light and monitor wont start

There are one or two capacitors that open in the power supply, sometimes it will have a bulge at the top, making it easy to spot.

Samsung monitor blue flashing light, black screen

Hello,

The picture board of your monitor has developed fault. That is why the screen is black.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity, because the fault is not something you can fix in other not to complicate issues..

The repairer will help diagnose and replace the faulty picture board and your monitor is back and better.

Take care.

Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

I am not familiar with your particular model, but I do know what the problem is.
The inverter that runs the lights behind the screen is faulty and needs to be repaired. The lights shine from the top and bottom and reflect outwards through the panel so you can see what is on the screen. If you start the computer up, then shine a bright light into the panel you will see an image on the screen, but very feintly.
This can be cheap, it can also be expensive depending on where you go to get it repaired. Call aorund to a few TV shops in your area to get a rough idea on prices.

Hope that helps =)
