Internal Battery Dead?

I hunted down a used PV-GS250 on eBay late last year, and it worked great for me.  However, I left the camera at home when I left for college this summer, and when I got back home it hadn't been used for over three months.   I tried turning it on, and got a "low internal battery" error.  A day or so later, when I went to follow the directions and plug it in for 24 hours to recharge this battery, the camera would not come on at all. I've now had it plugged in and charging for several days, and it still won't come on at all.   I have two external batteries for the camera, both of which I've now recharged and tried using, with no luck.  Is there any other way to charge the internal battery, or does it have to be replaced?  If so, where do I get an internal battery, and and how do I install it?
Thanks in advance for any help, I really love this camera and would hate to give it up.

Thanks for the link, I sent them a message and they're supposed to get back within 24 hours.  Still, has anyone else had this sort of problem?  If this is something I can fix myself, I'd rather do that than pay to send it in.

These guys had the same problem and it sounds like they fixed it - I am trying it right now - expecting it to work - hook up camera to A/C adapter with switch at OFF position and wait 24hrs - worth a try.

My shaver turn off immediately after it turn on

How old is the shaver? What model is it? How handy are you? It is possible the battery is dead. As with most electric shavers they try to tell us the battery is not replaceable, but if we take it apart the battery has either a model number or specifications on the side we can hunt down and purchase.

Even if you can't find the exact same model, make sure the specs are the same as the ones on the original battery and it's the same size roughly. Then it's only a matter of re-connecting the new battery in place of the old and away you go.

Popular sources for unconventional internal battery replacement is places like eBay, or if you want local, try an electronics store. If you can't find the exact battery as a replacement, you can use any as long as the chemistry, and battery specifications are the same you shouldn't have a problem.

My portable hand crank radio (for camping and power outages) had an internal NiMh battery pack which died after a few years of lack of use. Buying a new one from the manufacturer was a ridiculous price. Simply matching the specs and size I found a similar battery for a wireless home phone and used it instead. It works great and it cost a lot less than buying original.

My cordless Shark 14.4v hand vac rechargeable battery died, and there was no replacement battery. Taking it apart I discovered how the 14.4v internal battery was composed of. Several (12) 1.2v cells linked in series. So I simply bought 1.2v cells and linked them myself and put them back into the hand vac. Works great now.

I do not see any image thru the viewfinder of the PV-GS250 Camcorder. I tried to move the viewfinder tube at different inclination and extended lengths, but no light or image appeared most of the time. ...

The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the vewfinder LCD to the camera body and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Where can I buy a battery for a Panasonic videocamera?

Have you tried bust buy or circuit city? Most battery specialty shops would probably have one, if not they can order one for you. Check the web for battery replacements!

The solution is never buy a Panasonic DV camera. Tons of users complain of focus failure and Panasonic pretends the problem does not exist. Great cameras otherwise but out of focus does not cut it.

Using panasonic PV - GS250 with mac

I believe what you are doing is trying to download both video AND photos using the same port. They are two different functions. One connection is under the video door, and the other is in one of the other hidden ports of your camera. Give that a shot. Also, make sure the dial is set on playback (the red videocamera icon) when connecting it to your computer when you transfer the video. This is not the same when transferring photos (which come from the SD card you have, not the tape), and the wheel has to be set to PC.

Good luck!
