Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Ok... here i go. This morning, my little brother was using COD:WaW or Call of duty 5, for simple, in my ps3 (i say this because other people experience this a lot) and after he finished, i put in my Fallout 3 Disc. Now, i played about...1 and a half hours. i then ate, and left on my bike to do some workout about 2 hours. when i came back, i tried to play my game, of course, and to my surprise the ps3 wouldn´t read the Fallout 3 Disc. it enters perfectly and it stays in my menu screen over my Trophy collection, but it wouldn´t read THAT disc, as i popped COD and MGS and other tittles I have and worked perfectly. Now, i noticed, on the disk, and this after doing all the usual troubleshooting process, that it had some MINUSCULAR markings, 4-6 dots under a milimiter big, and these markings weren´t there before, so it´s possible my PS3 did those markings, since my game had been getting stuck a couple of times and etc....or that someone else aforementioned was tampering with my possesions, but i doubt so. This is scaring me, since games here can only be bought online (I live in Venezuela, and thus, cannot call Sony, otherwise games would escalate to over 120 US dolars due to monetary exchange) and it also is scary to think that my ps3 could do that to other games. So i´m wondering what the heck can i do for my game to work again, other than calling sony. Also i bought my game over a 2 hour boat trip to Margarita (The island, not the drink) so you can see why it would be hard to replace it. also my PS3 is a 60Gig version, updated, no other problems. Thanks and God bless the person who could help me.
3 Options that you should check
If you did leave the PS3 on it is possible that it did this while the console idled
During the period this game was in the console did you accidently bump/knock over you PS3? If so it would not suprise me if the game got scratched from this
Is your PS3 well ventilated? An arising issue with these consoles is overheating is becoming a factor in both damaging hardware and games
Hope my comment was of some assistance ;)
