Internet explorer problem

When i am online a box appears that says there is na internet explorer problem. It says it is run error 216 and also has the number41ecf732. I just installed a different printer and uninstalled norton anti viru 2003.

This issue can occur if your computer is infected with a SubSeven Trojan virus.

I'd re-install the Norton if possible. Are you still able to access the internet? If so, a good free AV that I use is AVG.

Go to Majorgeeks.com and search for AVG.

Never run a computer on the Internet without a good anti-virus.

I think its a virus infection.. scan/clean your unit try to download malwarebytes and install it to your computer...

Click start control panel administrative tools computer management then select event viewer this may vary depending on what operating system you have

Whereas Internet Explorer is a very popular browser, you may have problems with it from time to time. Internet Explorer has been known to either randomly shut down or close pages. This can be extremely irritating, especially if you are in the middle of a project. Use these tips to fix Internet Explorer if it keeps closing Web pages.

Start by deleting your browsing history. Open Internet Explorer and click the "Safety" tab found in the top right corner of the Web browser. Then, choose the "Delete Browsing History" option. A box will appear on the computer screen. Make sure that there are checkmarks next to each option listed in the box. Click the "Delete" tab to delete the browsing history. 1 Launch Internet Explorer.
2 Click on "Tools" in the file menu and select "Internet Options." A dialog box appears.
3 Click the "Fonts" button at the bottom of the dialog box. A Fonts window appears.

Scroll down and choose "Western" for the "Character sets" option.
5 Click the "Set as Default" button, then click "OK." Click "OK" again to exit the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer is not working. What I can do to get it back. I try different thing to get it back, but it was imposible. My son was plaing and delate internet explorer.


To reset Internet Explorer settings
  1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.

  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

  7. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.

  8. Close Internet Explorer.

Notes
  • If you close all visible windows, but still get an error message when trying to reset, you might have programs running that are not visible. Restart Windows, open Internet Explorer, and try resetting again.

  • To back up your home page or home page set before resetting Internet Explorer defaults, see Back up your home page or home page tabs.

  • If any of the categories fail to reset, it is because Internet Explorer could not access a file or registry setting. This can be caused by insufficient security privileges, files or settings being used by another program, or low memory or high CPU usage. You can either continue to use Internet Explorer without restoring these settings, or restart your computer and try to reset again.

  • If you are using Internet Explorer on a server and have turned off Enhanced Security Configuration or hardening (stronger security settings for use on servers), reset will go to client-level security. Certificate error on web site.


This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

Method 1: Disable script debugging loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Also, if the problem only happens on one or two Web pages, it might be a problem with those pages. If you decide to ignore the errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Go to method 2 now.

To turn off the Scripting Debugger in Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. and then click OK .
To turn off notification about every script error in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
Method 2: Test a Web page from another user account, another browser, and another computer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Use another user account, another browser, or another computer to view the Web pages that triggered a script error to determine whether the problem persists. If the script error persists, there may be a problem with the way the Web page is written. You can probably ignore the error and disable script debugging as described in method 1.

If the script error does not occur when you view the Web page from another user account, browser, or computer, the problem may be caused by files or by settings on your computer. Go to method 3 to continue to troubleshoot. Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If these are blocked on your computer, it may disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. Click Default Level.
  5. Click OK.
Note ActiveX controls and Java programs are turned off at the High security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to Method 4. Method 4: Remove all the temporary Internet-related files loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Every time that you open a browser to view a Web page, your computer stores a local copy of that Web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open Web pages. Periodically clearing the folder might help resolve the issue.

To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
  5. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  6. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  7. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  8. Click OK.
To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Browsing History, click Delete, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  5. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  6. Under Cookies, click Delete Cookies, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  7. Under History, click Delete History, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  8. Click Close, and then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to method 5. Method 5: Install the latest service pack and software updates for Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If you do not have the latest service pack or software upgrades for Internet Explorer 6 or 7, download and install them. They may contain updates that can help resolve the issue.

Method 1: Clear cached data in Internet Explorer
To determine whether a performance issue or an error message is caused by corruption in the temporary Internet files or in other cached information that is used by Internet Explorer, you must clear cached data. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
2. Click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.

On desktop, connect with IE, but error message pops up


  • Open your IE web browser. Click Tools on the menu bar. Click Internet Option in the dropdown list. Internet Options box will appear.
  • On the General Tab, click use default button for the Home Page. In the Browsing History, Click Delete..., and Click Delete All... button. On the Programs Tab you can make IE as your default web browser. Click "Manage Add-ons" button and Enable ALL the lists and then Click OK. You can also check the boxes you want to change in the Advanced Settings.
  • Update your Active X controls. You can search and download it in google.com
*Note: This takes effect after restarting your Internet Explorer.
