Trying to receive faxes but the fax machine keeps going to change drum soon

Says to replace drum soon, i've bought two, and still can't make copies or receive faxes]


Perform the manual drum counter reset. Open the front door cover & keep open. Then press clear. It should say replace drum, press 1 for yes it should then say accepted. Close cover & off you go.

Unble to receive a fax


It may be a silly question but it is a common error have you checked the cable is in the line socket and has not been put into the tel socket on teh back of the fax machine as this will cause a fault.. youcan check this also by dialling the fax number and see if it rings out.. also check the rx reception mode is set to fax and not tel/fax or manual setting this is on the display it should have the date and to the right say auto or fax make sure it isnt displaying tel.. Letr me know if this helps

Fax Problem


Once you have changed the drum unit on Brother 4100 you will need to keep the front door open and then press the option button. Your dispay should give show you a drum change option. press 1 to change drum and the machine should show "accepted" after a few seconds. Afterwards, close the door.

you must replace and maybe reset counter

Drum problems


After reinstall the new drum unit, keeping the front cover open.
Press Clear/Back.
Press 1 and when the LCD shows
Accepted, and close the front
cover.

2800 will not recieve faxes


Some models will actually stop working whenever a drum message is displayed.
Remember, you do not need a drum to fax out (only to print confirmations) so i would go ahead and change the drum.
Ons ome models you can adjust to how low you want to set it or remove it all together.
It will store it in memory for a while (providing you do not turn off the machine, and print as soon as you replace the toner)
