Question about HP Multimedia Cordless Keyboard/Mouse P5304A#ABA

Wireless mouse will not work

After many attempts of following the trouble shooting guides for HP wireless mouse I am ready to throw it out the window. Is there a way to use the computer with out using a mouse?

Thank you for your advice, quick response, and availability.

After hours of trying this and that, going over the trouble shooting, wondering, what have done wrong, or did I miss something, I emailed HP. HP email response to my SOS has been good. They are replacing the mouse, keyboard and USB. My computer is only 60 days old, the mouse/keyboard having off and on issues since purchase.

Meanwhile, I bought a wired mouse and keyboard. At least I can use the new computer.

Sure you can use the computer w/o a mouse. You can use the Alt key, Tab key, arrow keys, and the Enter key to move and make selections.

About the cordless mouse...I assume you have good batteries installed and in the proper position? Is this a new mouse? If you think it is bad, return it.

You can always buy a cheap USB mouse to get you going. Even though you can use a keyboard to navigate, it gets a little tedious after awhile.

With all due repect, I question your rating here. You asked if there was anyway you can use the computer without a mouse. I answered the question can.

I also suggested if it was a new mouse that you return it, which you obviously are doing.

So why would you only rate this as "Thanks for Trying"? I'm puzzled. Our overall ratings are based upon individual ratings such as yours. I would just ask that you consider increasing the current rating.

The enter key in the keypad area stopped working. All of the sudden when you press the key you get nothing.

Buy a replacement keyboard -- much cheaper than paying a technician to attempt to trouble-shoot.

Responsibly recycle the old keyboard.

I called Dynex customer support and they walked me through the troubleshooting process. It turns out there was a problem or conflict with one of my usb ports. The port recognizes my flash drive and other usb devices but not the mouse. I tried using the other two remaining ports and the mouse was recognized and works just fine.

Wireless mice are known to have trouble with certain wooden and metal surfaces that they can be used on, if not using a mouse-pad try one.

Secondly, if that doesn't work. Be sure that your mouse isn't set to be very fast in your mouse preferences under mouses in your control panel

Hope this help!

How do you change the wireless mouse from one computer to another?

A wireless mouse or keyboard relies on a feature in the computer itself to communicate with these devices. Unless the computer you're moving the wireless mouse to can communicate with wireless devices or also came with the same or similar mouse, you may be unsuccessful in your attempts to get it to work. Moving both the wireless mouse and the "card" out of one desktop computer to another should work if you want to go to that much trouble.
