well you can plug in any usb HDD in any PC and see if it bad.
you can look at the HDD casing see if the power pack jack is empty , no HDD state we have many here.
the good ones all have power packs and huge 1 to 3 TB HDD inside that must run with external power or die fast.
Android does not support NTFS filing system. Any drive you connect to a droid must be either Fat32/Ext3/Ext4/ExFat. It should also be capable of passing a Full Check Disk(ie no damage to the filing system)
The movie contains 'DRM' encoding -- "digital rights management".
The NOONTEC cannot access the Internet to obtain the DRM information to authorize playback of that file on that device.
1. Check your power lead make sure both ends are plugged in and switch on.
2. Replace Power lead
3. Rehouse the drive (This is not hard and there are a lot of youtube clips that can help you)
Convert the flv files to divx using free flv converter. Then use Divx converter to convert it to Home theatre. Then it will play on Noontec V6 if streamed from computer. Unfortunately if copied to USB drive it will not play.
Test you console with another harddisk to see if it detects the harddisk.
Also try a low level format on the harddisk with a pc so to ensure that there is nothing left on the harddisk, when reinserted in the ps3, the ps3 needs to fomat the harddisk, quick fomat will be enoug. If the original harddisk is still not detected, then your harddisk is defective and needs to be replaced, if the console also doen't detect the new harddisk then your ps3 needs to return to Sony because the sata controller on the motherboard of your ps3 is defective.
