Question about Sony KP-61V90 61" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

My remote this goes along with my last problem about the remote. NO remote works on this tv, nor the original or universal, the universal remotes do work on other equipment so it has to be the Remote Receiving Unit (RRU) inside the set. so how is this fixed and where is it?

There is an IR pickup on the bottom of the screen cabinet. It's most likely broken.

How do i turn on my samsonic tv without the remote?

If the TV has switched OFF by the remote control; at the last time of its switch OFF, you should have its original remote control to switch it ON back. Then only; you can set it for a universal remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability.
Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site Check this site too. Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.
Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window, and press enter to get all related posts. It will make surf easy.

Universal remote for RCA tv channel 1

Something missing here. There is no channel 1 on a TV set. None of the universal remote instructions I have or have seen specify that as a first step. From your post, I believe you want to use some kind of universal remote to control an RCA flat panel TV, Can you tell me the brand of universal remote you are trying to use? The answer to the last line of your post is you don't need the original remote to "reprogram". That's what universal remotes do

Remote won't communicate with television

The sensor for these Panasonic tvs along with certain Toshiba models tend to have the problem with the sets sensor going out. But if you are using a universal remote because you do not have the original, then most likely you will need to use the vcr control codes to program the tv. but if the original doesnt work either. your insticts are probably right. There is one last trick if you do have the original remote that u can try. I've had this work for me several times on service calls. With the batteries removed. Press every single button on the remote once. make sure you do this nice and slow making sure you are pressing the button down . if its a toggle button or rocker button like most volume or channel up down buttons(meanning that physically the is one button but depending on what part of button you press it does something differemt) well treat these as seperate buttons. Also if the remote has any switches on it. Like vcr/tv switch or vcr 1 vcr 2 etc. Then switch to other position and repeat the process of pressing all buttons once again. (remote does not have too be pointed at tv for obvious reasons) Now replace the batteries and have fingers crossed. Good luck.

Lost my manual for RCR4358 remote control

Press and hold TV and Power buttons until light is red. Press PLAY once, if TV does not come on press again untill TV comes on. Then press REVERSE until TV goes off. Last, hold down STOP until light goes off. I had to do this a couple of times, but it worked!
Thank so much,
Jo Ann
