Question about Sharp EL-501WBBL Calculator

I checked the manual for the EL-501W calculator and I found out that it does not do fraction calculations. However yours may be able to. Look for a key labeled [a b/c] and a [2ndF] key [d/c].

If you have them then you can calculate with fractions.

The way to use the [a b/c] key is as follows

15 [a b/c] 7 [a b/c] 19 [a b/c] should allow you to enter 15 and 7/19.

A mixed fraction can be converted into an improper fraction by pressing [2ndF][d/c]

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

From the other question posted it appears that your problem is not with the scientific display, rather it is with
decimal representation (approximate) or fraction/radical (exact).
representation.

If your results are in fraction/radical form press the [S<>D] key to switch from one to the other.

The calculator is by default in the MATHIO t output mode: results are in fraction/radical form.

If you don't like to work with this mode just change the IO mode to LineIO. To do so, press [SHIFT][Mode](Setup) and selct** 2:LineIO**

If you enter the ratios using the fraction entry key ( [a b/c] the results will be displayed as fractions. And when the calculator displays fractions they are always in their reduced form.

In general, when you are manipulating fractions ( Pi/2 is no a fraction even if you write it as one) you can try to simplify them by looking for the greatest common factor (GCF) of the numerator and denominator. When you simplify by the GCF the fraction that is left is in its reduced form.

Yes. Simply enter the fraction and press =. If the calculator is in the MathIO mode it will display the fraction in its simplest form. If you're in the LineIO mode, press the S--D button to convert the decimal to fraction.

You can convert between Standard Form (with fractions and pi) or
Decimal form by using the "S<->D" button. Use Mode 1 if you
mostly prefer fraction answers and you can use the SD button to convert
to decimal or use Mode 2 if you mostly prefer decimal answers and use
the SD button to see the fraction.
