Question about Canon BJC 3010 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

No Print My Canon BJC-3010 doesn't get used very often and even tho we live in a high, dry desert area, it usually performs well, even after weeks or months of disuse. The black (only)cartridge is about 9 months old and was operating fine till a few weeks ago when it stopped printing. It makes all the right sounds, but delivers a blank sheet. Tried the deep cleaning function and changing the print quality to no avail. Help

Remove the cartridge and set it on an alcohol-soaked paper towel in the kitchen sink for about 15 minutes. If the towel has not begun to draw ink out, then tap cartridge firmly against your other hand which is holding the towel. if still none, then try heating the alcohol to about 150 degrees and repeat. if still nothing, then ink is either spent or cartridge head is dried up. take it to cartridge world (or similar outlet store) and they can get a cheap replacement.

My Canon BJC 85 printer needs a new black print head but they do not seem to be available. Any thoughts on a fix?

You pretty much have to buy another prnter. I've had same troubles. Go on ebay to search for print heads for the BJC-85. But for the cost--if you can find one, since this is a much older printer--it's more cost effective to just get another printer. The problem is, that when the print head goes out again, you end up getting another and another printer, so that you've got several printers that work fine, but only one print head.
I have trouble that when the ink stops printing, I've cleaned the heads with alcohol, and then it just seems to shut down. I cannot get anything to print thru a head after cleaning with alcohol, even tho' other sites suggest it. Had same trouble with Canon i70 and i80 printers, too.
If you haven't purchased on ebay, take your time, because sometimes prices for another used printer can be good, sometimes super expensive. You can find a bargain, if you don't need to get one with power cord, because you've already got one. Good luck. Terry tlworkroom@lycos.com

BJC 85 not printing after head replacement

I have similar problem. Print head won't print, then I clean with alcohol, and get rid of old ink inside. But then head seems to just shut down. I have several print heads and printers that have plenty of ink, but head won't work. I refuse to think the print head will break so easily. I used my BJC 85 for YEARS with no problem whatsoever, and suddenly, since last winter, I have 4 printers that have stopped printing.
I usually end up just buying another used printer on ebay until that one stops printing.

BJC-85 Not printing. New BC-10 and BCI-10. Paper loads normally

The problem you are having is with the print head and not the printer. Unfortunately, with these canon print heads, they are not dated, so it is possible to install a print head that was bought new and sealed, but is still dried out because it is old.

Try running the print head through one deep cleaning cycle, this sometimes will start to get an old print head flowing.

Deep cleaning cycle can be found by going to PRINTERS , right clicking on the BJC icon, selecting PROPERTIES from the drop down menu, and then selecting the MAINTAINENCE tab.

Check to make sure that the ink tank in the print head isn't dry. Even a new print head can have a dry tank if it's old.

Problems with Canon BJC S400 - will not print ink on documents even though I just changed the ink cartridge

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Canon bjc-3000 is not printing

Has the software for the printer been installed in your computer? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but I did the same thing, and it turned out I hadn't installed the software yet so it didn't recognize the printer.

BJC-80 - Wont' print

Look on eBay for printhead or cartridge cleaning solution. The cartridge is clogged with dried ink. Take an empty ink tank, and drip cleaning solution onto the sponge, filling the cartridge part way. Install the cleaning cartridge in the printer, and leave it over night. Run cleaning cycle the next day, and print with the same cartridge. It should start printing. Install new ink cartridge.
With the BJCs, if the cartridge is defective electrically, the printer will have an error and usually 3 beeps, it will not try to print.

Canon bjc-80 - no print appears but cartridge & paper move normally

I had this problem too. It turned out there was old dry ink in there clogging up the printerhead and it was fixed after I ran the cleaning programme several times. However I can't for the lifeof me remember how to do that now. I know I found it online but it has since vanished. Maybe check your manual?
