Question about Apple HP DeskJet 3820 InkJet Printer
Cradle will not move on my Hewlett-Packard 3820 series Deskjet printer.
SOURCE: I need a User's guide, setup posters and software CD for my hp deskjet 3820 series printer, which I bought from a friend who had lost all this info. The only thing I have is a reference guide.
you can download drivers and manuals from here, but choose your operating system first

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.
Hope that helps!

"The print cartridge cradle cannot move."
I fixed this problem by disconnecting the power cord from the power-strip and connecting it directly into the wall. My printer was not getting enough voltage from the power-strip. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: print cartridge cradle is stuck
Try turning off the printer, disconnect the USB cable, uninstall the printer drivers in "Add and Remove Programs", reinstall the drivers and reconnect the printer. Printer problems are more prolific than any other problem with any other computer accessory. Drivers become corrupt for no apparent reason other than Windows feels like doing it. If this doesn't cure the problem then I would suggest GENTLY trying to dislodge the cartridge cradle just a little bit (don't force it side to side). It shouldn't stick but who knows. If it does move OK again, listen for any odd sounds coming from the printer. My guess is still a software/driver problem.
