I don't have the original remote control for the RCA F20625, but I want to hook up a dvd player to it. It has the yellow/white/red video & audio connections, so I figure it should work, right? Only thing is, when you go through setup it only asks if you have a VCR...no selection for DVD. Is it impossible to play a dvd on this thing? Is there some special code I have to enter? Is there some way to switch the input like AV1, AV2 or whatever without the original remote? The DVD player I am trying to use is a Samsung (model: DVD-HD841/XAA). Help!

Re: hooking up & seeing a dvd player?
Does the dvd have a coax output for coax antenna input on the tv? you can use that untill you can get the video input selection straight with the tv and a remote that supports rca's extra functions such as menu , tv/av button
also if there is a( wake-up) on/off timer in the tv menu , then you can also set it to come on with the video input instead of a tv station, set it a few minutes after the time it is when you set it( then just turn off the tv set after the time is set and you have exited the menu, then it will come on with the video input instead of a tv station)
otherwise you will need that remote that supports the video input selection on your tv

To unlock all its locked functions, you must have its original remote control A universal remote control won't go. Try to get its original one. Don't waste more money by buying a universal remote control.
If you have connected the audio video out of DVD to audio video in to the TVs front panel; what else to do?. Power up both the devices, goto the menu option of your tV, set it to vidieo mode, open the tray of the DVD by it open-close button, put a dvd disc in, push open close button of the DVD again, take the remote control of the DVD; select the chapter you want to see, sit back easy and see the recordings on the disc. That is all. OK.
Are you reffering to your DVD player to be conected to with your TV screen?
For DVD player connection the 3 colored RCA jack socket are:
YELLOW = video out RED and WHITE = Audio out (left and right channels)
to hook up to your screen, at the back of the screen or side of it you'll see RCA socket indicating "AV1" "AV2" AV3" this are all Audio/video inputs where you can hook up all you A/V device or game consoles. These inputs also have the same 3 colored socket (yello = video red/white = audio) connect your DVD player to any of this input following the same color code. After connecting the cable, select the input where you hook up your dvd player. Do this by pressing "A/V" buttons in remote commander of your TV. continously press this button until it reaches the exact location where you plug your player ex. AV1, AV2,AV3
note: in some cases the remote commander doesn't indicate this A/V button but a picture of a box having a arrow pointing inside the box.
I have this same TV. The DVD player is either hooked up to the video or
s-video input. Go to the Menu (either through the remote or from the
front of the TV) and select the Setup option. Go to the part where it
asks if you want to use a DVD player. Select yes. Then select Video
Input. Exit the Setup. When you hit the DVD button, it will switch to
the Video input. The second step is to go into the Menu and select
Channel, then go to Video Input Source. From there, select which input
you are using for your DVD player, the S-Video or the standard Video
(yellow composite cable).
