Error 8001050F is a reference to faulty hardware - In particular your Blu-ray Drive unfortunately there is nothing you can do apart from send in back to Sony or if you are very confident purchase the parts and replace it yourself

The 2nd option will void you warranty so I advise against it;

Please leave a rating if this was helpful

Whats error code 8001050F

There is a worldwide issue which Sony are fully aware of which is affecting
all old model PS3's, The new slimline PS3's are not affected.

Due to an internal clock failure on the units they are not syncronsing with the
network time on the PSN's end. Causing error-8001050F

There is no official ETA although at 16:58 GMT today (1st March) Sony released a
statement stating they should have the problem resolved within 24 hours and have
advised all PS3 users experiencing issues NOT to use their PS3 until they
advise the issue is resolved as it could result in loss of functionality and
further damage.

If you see an error #8001020F you have run up against the current global issue with the Playstation Network. Most PS3 games will check the trophy status online before they load whether you are actually playing online or not. Sony is aware of the issue and is working on it. They have not released an ETA at this time. Sony is currently updating their Twitter page with their progress. You can check the following link for updates:

I get error code 8001050F on my PS3

Hi,

you cannot fix this yourself but don't worry. There is a widespread problem occuring right across the board at this very moment with the PSN Network. Some consoles are not synching properly due to an internal clock error and causing problems exactly like you describe.

It is expected that Sony will soon have this resolved.

For a full breakdown please look at this FixYa Tip.

If the solution helps, please leave a vote for it. Thanks.
