Acer Aspire AST135-U-S3104 Won't boot up

Power failure. Now system goes into a boot loop. Won't boot in safe or C: prompt. Can't find my recovery CD's. Mostly I want to pull data from the drive, music and photos. I booted with an XP Pro install CD and went to Recovery. At the C: prompt I tried dir but it failed. chkdsk is running though.

...............FIXED!!!!!
Just running chkdsk on C: from the XP Install CD (used R - Recovery option) and DIR started to work and machine booted up. SP3 and all other maint installed and it's running fine.

My acer aspire will not boot can you help

I think the operation system is corrupted and the action to do is press the key specified on screen to get to the boot menu ..and select the recovery partition if you have one ..In this option select to total reinstall the operation system and will work after that .
To engage the recovery if it does not work with the boot menu ..try to see if F11 works ..usually this key is reserved for recovery procedure alone ..
If you do not have a recovery partition you will need a recovery disk and the same procedure Boot from disk and reinstall the system or ..a Boot-able disk with operation system on it to reinstall the system from scratch ..
let me know if you have other issues related with this ..

How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. I have lack knowledge when using computers, please teach me how to reformat my acer aspire m5640?

Hi ourkiddys...
How to reinstall the Operating system on your computer

Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
To start the system recovery:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
3.If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
4.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
3.Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
4.Close the CD-ROM tray.
5.Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
6.The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
7.When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

8.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.

Hi My acer t135 will not boot up properly when

First of all you must recover your files: download and burn a Linux Live-CD, boot from it and move your files to an USB stick.
All older Acer's have a hidden recovery partition. Check in the BIOS (F2 to boot on my Acer): that Acer Disk to Disk Recovery is activated in the Main panel, which D2D Recovery is well on Enabled. To access it press ALT + F10 once the Acer logo is displayed.
If you don't have one borrow from a friend a retail XP disk and do a Repair or Inplace Upgrade install.

Acer aspire not loading to windows

Hi,

If you have recovery disc or back up disc put it in and restart the PC and start tapping the F12 key until at the Acer splash screen, you should get now see your boot order, now use your up and down cursor key to highlight the CD/DVD drive and then press enter, this will now start the recovery disc that you put in, just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have a disc, restart the PC and at the Acer splash screen start tapping the ALT+F10 or just F10 and if you have a recovery partition on your hardrive then the recovery program will start up, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks

Sony vaio not loading windos

Try booting XP with the installation CD & use the recovery console to boot the laptop.

From the Setup CD-ROM

Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password. At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.

To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit.

I have an acer aspire L350 i want to restore it from the recovery partition but i dont know what to press to get to it please help

When you first turned on your laptop from new, you should have been prompted to create back up disks of your system.

If you did not do this, then you can try the following.

Most models of Acer Aspire have recovery system capabilities.
When booting up press F2 to enter the bios. Make sure that D2D recovery system is enabled then exit and save the changes. Press Alt+F10 to enter recovery. If this does not work for you then contact Acer for replacement recovery disks.

I hope this helps
