If you look inside the washer cabinet or outside
shell, there should be a service or diagnostic manual
inside a bag, taped under or inside there,tip it up to look
from the bottom,may be up high so you don't see it

call your G.E. authorized dealer because theres a recall on this unit,or call G.E. directly or go online to find out how to get warranty service at NO COST to you,as theres a problem with these machines and the problem your having is a recall issue by GE company,the unit needs to be re-programmed during spin or theres a chance the basket can breach the top cabinet during spin cycle call them SOON,all serial numbers for that model are covered under this warranty

Unless GE has changed in recent years the motor and transmission can be serviced from the rear of the washer. GE engineering did not have a front service panel when I serviced them. Belts usually last a long time, look for a bound water pump or other problems.

If you look in the back of the control panel (usually this is four number 25 torex screws) on the top of the unit....
there is a tech sheet with some basic information. The old style ge had a belt and transmission, the newer stuff has a dc motor with a converter board mounted on top of it which is just one part. You can remove the front panel by pushing in with a putty knife about three inches in on each side at the top and pulling out on the panel while you do this. There is a fuseable link on the neutral side from one side of the plug to the motor you can check Not a solution, but some information on ge washers. Unplug washer before you work on it....
