If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me

ENGEL STILL GETS COLD BUT RUNS VERY HOT AND USES MORE POWER

FRIDGE COILS SEEM VERY HOT:

The condenser coils do get hot. They can even be to hot to comfortably touch and this is normal.

The refrigerator should not run constantly.

Running constantly and never cycling off can indicate a cooling problem.

One thing to try is to wait till it has been running a few minutes then open the door and turn your cycling thermostat towards the off position. It should cycle off before getting to the off position on the dial.

If it does not cycle off then it's not getting cold enough to satisfy the thermostat. This is likely the reason the refrigerator runs all the time.

A thermometer in a glass of water can be used to check the temperatures in the refrigerator section.

You can check that all fans are running.

Fridge and freezer at 50 degrees with settings on max cold. I can hear compressor cycling and all power is on. Suggestions?

Your Refrig/freezer should be set as follows:

Refrigerators: 36 to 40 degrees. Ideal temp is 37 Fahrenheit. Note: A temp above 42 degrees promotes bacteria.

Freezer: temp should be -5 to 6 degrees Fahrenheit. Ideal temp is 0 degrees.

Then check the door seals around the edges to see if any splits, tears or cracks have messed up the seal. This will cause your compressor to constantly run as it's trying to cool off the warm house is being sucked into the freezer (or Refrig). A sure sign the door seals are damaged is lots of ice in the freezer door area or water pooling in the bottom area of the refrigerator.

Wait about 4 hrs after you readjusted the Refrigerator/Freezer settings so everything settles down. If you still have problems then the coolant may need to be serviced (topped off) or the motor serviced/checked.

Don't procrastinate because a water heater and Refrig/freezer are the 2 largest energy users in your home- they run 24 hrs a day.

Hope this helps...

My g4 doesn't function for any longer than 10 mins.It is weak and I have tried evrything but can't fix it

there is a rubber diaphragm in the base of the unit that pulses with the vacuum, which is what gives it its movement. these are prone to hardening, and will stop functioning speratically. it is a cheap part and should be available at your local supplier.

FYI these rubber diaphragms sometimes have issues in cold water, as in 65 degrees or lower approx. the rubber is too stiff when that cold to properly function. good luck!

My 39ltr Engel is only freezing on 1 side the other is only cool

This sounds like a water problem. Both sides should be at comparable temps. Is this a model with door instant ice/and/or icemaker?
