if you are right and it has been discharged for this long it will take a long time for it to start to charge.it could also not charge ever again. batteries have to have a minimum off 1.5volts to be able to recharge. if it drop lower than this it cannot charge. now sometimes you can jump start the battery with a slightly higher voltage but only to the battery not in the unit. goes as follows. 1.5v battery jump 3 seconds on 3volt. 3v battery jump 6volt 3 sec, 9volt jump 12volt 2 seconds, 12volt 14-16volt 2 seconds 2 times. 14volt and 16volt is max 24volt 1 second at 3 intervals. all these are set at a 3amp no higher amp.
There is nothing "magic" about the adapter supplied by the original manufacturer. Take the set to a local electronics sales or repair shop. They only have to match:
Power requirement (how man milliWatts or Watts)
Polarity (is the center of the connector + or -)
This information should be apparent to somehow who knows what they are looking for.
There is a fuse on the DC power line for AC/DC sets and you can start by making sure it isn't blown. The fuse may be in the cigarette lighter plug itself, or inside the TV. If you find the fuse blown, replace it with one of the same value and try it again. The fuses sometimes do go for no good reason. If there is some internal trouble with the TV, the fuse will go again and you'll know for sure.
if the magic eye is used in conjunction with an aerial cable you have to retune one of the analouge channels . this should be in the opperating manual. if you no longer have this try www.tvs-services.com
I would check on the inside for a disconnected wire or loose connection at the Dc imput if it still works on ac. You can most likely get a service manual at http://www.servicemanuals.net/ if the wires are intact on the DC imput and the jack itself fits secure to the adapter. Hope this helps
