Question about HP LaserJet 1022 Printer

1 Answer

Small piece of paper is jammed and wadded in my HP LaserJet 1022 printer. I've removed the ink cartridge. Can see part of the paper and have managed to squeeze hand into the top of the printer and torn part of the paper but can't get hold of it and move it either from the top lid or from opening wher the paper enters. What now??? Any way to remove any printer pieces in there to let my hand in and take the roller pressure off of the paper?

most of the printers have some type of pressure release levers If you can see the fuser rollers you should be able to release the pressure by seperating the rollers with a stiff index card which should
allow you to remove the paper with tweezers or a hemostat

can you see any green release lever?

I have an HP 1022N and the top yellow light with triangle with exclamation mark symbol inside is blinking and printer won't function. How to fix?.

According to the user manual the triangle lamp blinking is an indication that the error needs user intervention. The possible causes are the ink cartridge door is not closed completely, out of paper, no ink cartridge, or there is a paperjam. To fix these, click on the link below to download the user manual. This issue is posted on page 75. Hope this helps.

Triagle light blinks on HP Laserjet 1022

Hi,
If only the triangle light blinks then is because one of the following reasons:
1.The print cartridge door is open.
2.The printer is out of paper.
3.The print cartridge is installed incorrectly. Try opening the door, removing the cartridge and installing it again. It should snap into place.
4.There is a paper jam. Remove the cartridge and check if there is a paper jam.

Paper jam problem

it will depend if it is a false paper jam, it would be better if you would call HP.
if not, you can take out the paper at back, there will be a rear door access.
hope it works..

Paper jam

go over these steps:
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Stuck on "initilizing"

There are 3 things that will prevent it from going "ready"; they are

1. a paper jam (did you retrieve all of the page out of the printer?), all it take is a small piece of paper in the wrong spot and that will do it.

2. No paper in the paper tray.

3. The ink or toner cartridge is not seated properly or just plain missing. A color laserjet has 4 cartridges.

Good Luck!!!

HP LaserJet 1022 Error Message

I had exactky the same issue. The problem is not with the front door or the cartridge. I solved this as there was a very small paperjam. If you take out all the paper and shine a torch into the printer you may find a small piece of paper stuck on the sensor that is causing the problem
