i just realised what ive been doing wrong. When you select the soft key options, it gives you only 4 options. i did not realise you could scroll down to see more options, even though you said scroll down. i have now found how to do it. Silly me!

Thank you for your help JR Mclean

    Hi,

    I have the same problem.

When I go to Phonebook >> Options, I don't get the 'Move' option; I get 'Move to SIM'.

But there's no option to move from SIM to Phone.

Even when I add new contacts to SIM, they don't show up in my Phonebook!?!

Anyone know an answer to this?

    Thanks.

Hi, I just recently bought my Samsung Tocco and when people on my contacts call me, it does not show the name that i saved them as on my SIM card but it shows their names from what it is registered under through their network. Whatever name i have them under in my SIM does not appear, sometimes the numbers are private names and only the number appears. How do i make it so my contact names are the same as my SIM card when callers call in? Please help!

Go this way

Menu > Phonebook > Options

Scroll down to Move and select.

Select Multiple from the pop out.

In the list just check All or whatever contacts you want.

    Strange,

When you go into the phonebook from the main menu the 'options' should be on the soft menu at the bottom left hand side, if you can't see that, maybe something wrong with the phone.

Go to Phonebook >> Options >> Settings and make sure the "View Contacts From" has the SIM (or All) selected.

Numbers stored on your SIM that appear in your phonebook should have the small SIM Icon next to them. You wont get the "Move/Copy to Phone" options without reading the SIM.

I have put my sim card into my samsung f480 but the contacts have not transferred over. I know that my contacts are definately saved to my sim, please help!!!

hi,

if you are sure that your contacts are in the Sim, you can copy it in your samsungs memory from your sim card. Some unit will show your sim contacts unless you transfer it in your phones memory.

you can check that option at the Contact or Phonebook menu of your phone.

Hope I get your problem.

Don't forget to rate me. Thanks.

John

I need to copy the contact list from Samsung phone memory to the

you need a third party program to do this, look for the application like pim back up, contacts backup and download it from your phone to install, run the program and back up the contacts. but you need to install this program to both phones.
hence if you cannot find one, use your sim card's utility. copy the contacts to your sim, insert it to your blackberry and copy the contacts from your sim to your blackberry.
i am afraid there is still no way you can back up your contact list in your samsung phone to your memory card. even if you use your samsung studio or samsung pc suite, there is no possible way to copy the save phonebook contacts to your blackberry, they have different file extensions. you can save your samsung contacts as npf, csv, or vcard extensions. you can save your contacts to your memory card as csv or vcard, but i just don't know if blackberry has the capability to browse and save the contacts in this file extension from your memory card.
so the only possible way is to back it up using your studio as vcard, and since blackberry can sync to outlook, you can sync your phone book contacts from outlook to your blackberry..
take care..

Message appear the contact number not name

Ive has this problem before, this normally happens if you have your contacts saves twice in your phonebook, for instanse if you have them saved to the SIM and the phone. Try deleting either all SIM contacts or all phone contacts, your messages should then show as the name you have it saved as in your phonebook.

most of the SE phone have two types of contact saving

1- in phone memory
2- in SIM card memory

if u have contacts saved in SIM memory but u r using
phonebook memory then it is default

if u save any contact in phone memory u have an option too
to copy it to SIM memory

for deleting a contact it will behave like this:
for example, u have a contact saved in phone memory
as well as in SIM memory
if u delete this contact, then it will be deleted from phone
memory but not from SIM memory

and when u are called from same number
(which is not present in Phone memory but is in SIM)
it displays the name again
