Question about Panasonic SVAV100 D-Snap MPEG4 Digital Video Recorder Camcorder
My PV-GS14 camcorder is stuck in pause, will not record, has blue bars which I think is clogged head (wont take cleaning tape), has eject problems, the eject problem, have to hit reset constantly, I'm sure is an unrelated problem from the others. Is there a fix to make it record?
Heard that if you record on a new tape all the way through, it will clean the heads, & rid of the blue bars.

SOURCE: removing dv cassettes manually
open the unit and look for a small motor that ejects the tape through a series of mechanical gears, slides and hinges. Now turn this motor by hand.

SOURCE: where is the reset button
I haven't used mine for over 2 years because of the mildew detected warning and not being able to find anyone to fix it for me. I just found this on the internet and am going to try it when my battery charges. Seems this is a common error for these palmcorders... good luck! "When you get the "Dew Detected" sign on the screen, remove the battery, give it a good palm hit on the bottom where the battery sits. Hit it a couple good times, put the battery back in and voila it will work guaranteed! I thought it was dumb at first, tried it and it works, hell it works everytime. The blow dryer, plastic bag trick dont work because its an electrical error, not actual dew."

SOURCE: Canon zr300 ejects tapes
The solution for this required sending it to Canon factory service. I was very reluctant to do this because I've heard horror stories about Canon service, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. The total cost was only about $65 and the shipping and service turn around time was amazingly fast. I was expecting weeks to go by. If memory serves me right I shipped it and received it back in less than 2 weeks.
This is a known problem with Canon and would be covered under warranty if your time hasn't run out.
