Dont have cd rom for printer to install on my computer MFC- 440 CnN brother printer lost the disk to install the printer into the computer what can i do ?

For whatever reason, the brother US site does not have the MFC-260C driver available. I managed to find it for you on their australian site. Just download the driver based on your operating system, double click on the .exe file, navigate through the options (most likely just taking the default unless you know what you're doing), and it should install the drivers for you. You can copy the .exe file to a flash drive or CD to install it on any other computers.

You have several options to do this:

- If you have spare PC, you may copy the content of the CD to a USB disk and install from the USB disk on the laptop
- Or you may just insert the CD on another computer on the network and share the CD-ROM drive by going to My Computer-Right Click on the CD Drive and click share. Now on your laptop go to My Network Places (usually on Control Panel) where you can see the shared CD drive from your other machine.
- Or if your laptop has internet access, visit Brother website and type your printer model to download the driver installer on your laptop machine.

You can download the drivers from the Manufacturer Web Site. You do not mention which Operating System you have ie: Windows7, XP , Home Edition…

Go to the Manufacturer Web Site ie: Epson.com or hp.com. Brother.com, etc, and choose your OS and download and install the drivers and software, then restart your computer.

The website will have the software "drivers" for you to download that your printer model's installation CD-ROM originally came with. This is necessary for your computer to recognize what kind of printer you're plugging in to it.

The printer's installation CD-ROM had the exact same drivers that you will be downloading so it will be like if you’re getting the installation CD-ROM again but only via the internet instead of having an actual CD-ROM so don't worry about it.

Some generations of people are terrified of using the internet for no other reason then FEAR of the unknown and that is not my problem. Just be brave.

Most computers will have a wizard software.

Follow these step to install printer: turn on computer,,& printer and hook up together
click on "start
"then go to 'setting",
select " printer & fax,
then go to adding----after that the wizard box will display you just follow the instruction to finish your installation.

you can download the driver from this site, just look for mfc-210c. you also need to choose from which country you are in and select the correct windows operating system. http://www.brother.com/E-ftp/info/index.html

The solution for this one's an easy fix. All you have to do is go to brother, click on Product Support, select your country or the nearest one to you, then where it says please enter your model name type in mfc-240c and hit enter. Click where it says MFC-240C and then go to downloads, select drivers, then your operating system, and then your language, and finally, click search. It will bring you to the page with teh drivers for your printer. In the downloads area, you can also download the manuals, the software for your printer, etc.. It's all quite well laid out. Let me know if you run into any problems.

You can try searching the web for the driver for that machine or call Brother directly at 1-800-284-4357 and order another cd
