Can a symphonic TV model WF203 be put in video mode without a remote

Only if you have a source button on the tv itself. On many of the newer sets you have to have the remote to access your other inputs. Without the remote, nada. And forget universal remotes - they only provide for the most basic functions and video source is not one of them. And you get hosed on original remotes.

Trying to find a remote code. The tv is a 19"PLEDV1945A-B and the remote is a Time Warner UR5U-8780L-TWC

TV Instructions:
TV Codes: try 333
or 116, 143, 258, 363
STEP 1 Turn on the TV.

STEP 2 Press the [TV] button and the [OK/SEL] button simultaneously for three seconds. The TV Device LED will turn on indicating that the remote is in the programming mode. The LED will remain on for 30 seconds and the next step must be entered while the LED is on.

STEP 3 Point the remote control toward the TV and enter the three-digit code number assigned to your brand device (codes can be found in the code tables in the user guide or online). If there are more than one three-digit number listed for your brand, try one code number at a time until your TV turns off.

Note: When the TV turns off you can verify that you have selected the correct code by pressing the [POWER] button. The TV should turn back on. Then try all of the functions on the remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) to ensure you have the correct code. If any of the functions do not operate as they should, repeat the instructions from STEP 3 above using the next three digit code number from the brand list.

STEP 4 Store the three-digit code by pressing the [TV] button once again. The TV Device LED will blink twice to confirm that the TV code has been stored.

I have an RCA TV converter box, model DTA800B1. I don't have the box or instructions, I am attempting to conneect it to an RCA TV with a built-in DVD player. I would appreciate the code that the TV...

There are a lot of possible RCA TV codes programmed into the DTA800B1 remote.
Try the following three digit codes: RCA 000, 001, 005, 072, 073, 074, 075, 076, 077, 078, 135,
138, 140, 144, 150, 156, 159, 162, 163, 169, 171, 178, 229, 246, 249, 260, 274, 275, 293, 302 in order.

To program the remote. Turn on your TV manually and press PGM (to the left of the zero in the number pad section). The LED should light and stay lit. Type in the first 3 digit code and press OK (in the center of the arrow keys near the top). See if the gray volume up/down keys work to change the volume. If it doesn't work press PGM again and enter the next code.

Note that the converter box remote will only turn on and off, switch the input from Channel 3 or 4 to AV in, adjust the volume and mute the TV. It will not control any of the DVD functions. Your original TV remote will not control the converter box.

The manual for the DTA800B1 is available here: http://www.1800customersupport.com/productdocuments/DTA800B1_RCA.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Previously Requested but no solution: I cannot reprogram the remote for this TV so that I can connect to AT&T Uverse Satellite. I do not have a mdoel number for the TV remote that came with the...

Hello, Mr. Ross.

I'll be more than happy to assist you with this and all of your other Uverse concerns.

First please write these codes down, these are the TV codes for your Mitsubishi TV,
0093, 0150, 0178, 0019 (we are going to do trial and error for these codes till we hit the correct one for your TV.)

Please turn the TV on and point your ATT remote control.
Okay, using your ATT remote control, please press and hold the TV button together with the "OK" button.
All four modes should flash twice indicating that we are programming your remote control.
Now, enter the 4 digit code and the selected mode (in our case it is the TV) should give a long flash.
Then press OK.
Try to turn your TV off and check if it would respond
If not, please redo the steps but this time use the other codes I provided earlier.

If these codes wont work we will do the automatic code finder if you are using the "black" AT&T Uverse remote control.

Using your ATT remote control, please press and hold the TV button together with the "OK" button.
Then press the "scan/ff" button repeatedly with atleast 1 second interval till it turns your TV off.
Press OK then try to turn your TV on again.

Whenever your remote won't respond, try pressing either the AT&T button on top of the remote before any other buttons or the TV button beside the ATT button.

I have a RCA Digital converter box remote that needs to be programmed for my TV and I do not have the code or know how to program it manually.

You have a limited number of TV brands that can be controlled by this remote as DTV converter boxes are just basic function devices. If your TV is not on the list, then it cannot be controlled. If your TV brand is on the list, look for the 3 digit codes next to your TV brand. You may have to try all the codes if one does not work. You should have the list on a separate leaflet that came with your converter box.
Press PGM on the remote. Enter the 3 digit code with the number keys. Press OK. Test by pressing the volume button and see if it works. If not try another code next to your TV brand from the list.
If you lost the leaflet then here is a link online to see this information:
http://www.1800customersupport.com/productdocuments/DTA800_code.pdf
I'm assuming you have the DTA800 box.

Have to manually turn on tv when turning on digital converter box

astoner3,

Our dish remotes are compatible with most TV manufacturers. On some older TV, we may not have codes that allow for full functionality for the DISH remote. I have provided the most common codes to work with the Sharp TV. The codes are: 628, 605, 740, 591, and 606. I have also provided instructions on programming the remote to the TV.

Remotes: Basic (Television Only)
  1. Turn the Television On
  2. Press and Hold the TV Power button for three seconds until the LED flashes
  3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
  4. Press OK. Note: The LED will flash three times.
  5. Test functionality with the TV
  6. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.
