Question about Toshiba SD-K620 DVD Player

1 Answer

Error message My Toshiba SD-K 620 DVD player has been working normally for several years. Now, when a disk is inserted for play the message I get is "Disk Error" and it does not play. Is this a simple problem or should I just thrown the player away and buy a new one? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Error message

I think your problem is that your lens( laser lens) that reads the disk is dirty. Try this get q-tip and put just little rubbing alcohol and clean the lens.

There is an recall from Toshiba for "bad" problem in Toshiba SD-3980 dvd player.

"Toshiba is committed to customer service and to continuously improving the quality of its products. It has come to our attention that certain DVD players bearing the model numbers SD-3980 and SD-K750 may at some point in their life stop playing discs due to a component part failure. If you own either of these models and experience the issue described above, please contact Toshiba Customer Solutions at 1-800-631-3811 for information on how to obtain a replacement unit."

I have a Toshiba sd 3750 DVD player, I insert a disk, it spins up then it gives me a M-7 Code? I looked all over and can't find out what this code means?

Is the code only displayed for a particular disc, or any disc that you try to play? If it is a specific disc there is probably an error on the disc. If the code comes up with any disc you try you will have to take the player to a warranty shop to have them identify the code.

Make sure you are using the right disk IE, DVD-R or DVD+R. Most Newer DVD player's will play DVD-R but very few play DVD+R

My SD1009U not sensing the DVD.

Some of the panasonic models had motor problems that cuased them to start not reading disks and give a error code on the display. Maybe yours just has a dirty laser pickup and you MIGHT be able to gently clean it off and see if it will play again, other then that it might well be worn out. most newer machines have a dual laser pickup, one is tuned for pressed cd's and DVD 's and the other is tuned for cdrw and dvdrw style disks.
