My company is Alcatel-Lucent. We need to make test calls on tranz380 to solve a transmission gear problem. We purchased a Tranz 380 unit from Omega Corp. and need instructions to setup the unit (password, dummy customer ID, etc).

Your shop has optical phone lines? lol I never heard of such a thing and I used to work for MCI worldcom. All you need to do is call up Qwest or your local phone provider and have them put in a standard analogue phone or fax line. Here it would run you about 20 bucks if you dont get it as a business line. maybe 50 if you tell them it is for a business.
More than likely the password is your Merchant ID # if not more than likely is you would have to purchase a new one, mainly because most of the machines have been updated by frimware or baud rate which may prevent normal usage to credit card companies.
If the terminal is changing to the year 2000 on its own, that is a software issue. If the terminal were having hardware problems that were affecting the clock, I would expect it to go to a very different year.
Call customer support as something is wrong with the system.
What you need to do is to call the customer support line from this new company and have them walk you through the process. What the terminal needs is a new load of software. They can walk you through that process and help you if there are any problems with it.
According to my B of A tech support people, your terminal is running out of memory. Call your tech support and let them walk you through it. You may need to wipe the memory of the terminal and then re-load the application.
After you print a detail report, you'll have to delete the batch and then re-enter each transaction manually and then transmit that batch. This has happened to me twice and they say it's probably due to the age of the terminal (30 yrs in my case).
Do not be discouraged by a tech-support person that doesn't know what to do. Have them ask their supervisor. The last time this happened, I had to call back and get a different tech and even then, she had to pass me off to a more senior tech, who then had to consult someone else!
after the tranz prints the first receipt do not press the func/enter button, but rather press the clear button on the upper right hand corner. It will not print the second receipt nor will it cancel the transaction.
The error message "Programming Err 0" means that the terminal memory has been corrupted. The only way forward is to acknowledge the situation and reload the terminal application.
If you press the [1] and [FUNC/ENTER] key at the same time, oten the message will go away. However, you will have a terminal with no programming in it. You will need to call your processing company and get a new load.

There is not a single answer to this question. Why? Because to be able to print yesterday's report depends on if the application that is in the terminal has been designed to allow you to do that. The only way to answer this question is to ask it of the customer support line of your processor. It may be that the only way to get that information is to have them print it out and mail it to you.
