Question about Medline Industries Medline Manual Digital B.P. Unit - Unit w/Std Adult Cuff 1 EA

1 Answer

Sphygmomanometer I dropped my medline blood pressure cuff and sphygmomanometer on the concrete floor. Now the needle is at 300 instead of 0. Is there anyway to reset/calibrate it? Thanks for whatever assistance you can give me

I am not familiar with this unit. What happens when you inflate the cuff? Does the needle move? I believe that the cog that rotates the needle has jumped teeth. Is the unit still under warranty? If not, if you are mechanically inclined, take it apart and see if you can move the needle back to 0.
    GOOD LUCK!

Most likely when you dropped it on the concrete floor the compact of it hitting the floor has either jarred something on the inside of it and has caused it to not work properly or find the papers to the machine and restart the directions for it. i hope that something i have said may work, good luck!

The needle on the Sphygmomanometer gauge will not return to its zero reading. Otherwise it seems to function correctly.

This will happen sometimes, if the BP Cuff has been dropped and the gauge gets stuck. Have you tried tapping on the gauge with your finger, to get it to return to 0 ? Also. be sure the thumb screw air valve is fully open and the cuff is completely deflated. The gauge is easily replaceable, if necessary. Just contact the manufacturer of your BP Cuff or if you prefer Sphygmomanometer.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a blood pressure sphygmomanometer, how do you take a blood pressure reading and what is normal?

Much easier to go to a store, like Walgreens and get an inexpensive ( like 15 dollars) automatic wrist cuff blood pressure monitor, that will give you accurate and quick readings of your heart rate, and blood pressure, systolic and diastolic, automatically.

We need to recalabrate the sphygmomanometer...how do we do that?

Hi mindy_blu
thats the problem with sphygmomanometer, however you may try this. open the glass part then try to re align the hand of the manometer. this will then calibrate your manometer.
Thanks

Scope is stuck on 300

Unscrew the silver ring from around the dial face. Lift off the clear cover. Pull the needle off the pin. Re-align the pointer to "O". Gently push needle back on to pin avoiding pushing to hard or bending the needle. I hope this solution solves your problem.
