Hello michelew2131,
My assumption is that your whites are turning grey because of the overtemp condition. Please correct me if I am wrong. How did you determine your dryer was over-heating? There are over-temp sensors that would/should disable the heater in that case.. I would be more inclined to believe you have a problem with your venting system or blower ( restricting air flow and cooking your laundry)
I would be interested in following up on this ( its my hobby) but it would be useful to have the brand and model aswell as type ( gas or electric) to assist in the diagnostics for you..

Strange yellowish circle appearing on white shirts

i believe the stains are actually semi burn marks. If you are drying your whites try a lower heat setting. i had this problem with my kenmore dryer before too. Got bad especially with towels. Make sure your vent is not clogged and your filter is cleaned regularly to let the heat flow better. should help.

Clothes aren't drying...

First check and clean the lint trap. Next turn on the dryer and go outside to the dryer vent and make sure you have good airflow coming out. If you don't have good airflow then there is a blockage in the vent system somewhere.

Makes a noise like there is loose change in the dryer. Grey marks are coming off onto the clothes. checked. there is nothing inside the dryer or in the pockets of the clothes. Still happens- even with...

This sounds like a faulty drum bearing. The grey marks you are seeing are grease from the bearing. The loose change sound is from the remnants of the bearing rotating as the drum turns.

All our whites are now greys washing with our GE WCVH6260

graying of clothes is usualy caused by / serveral things . too much soap / washer not rinsing properly / and gas dryers. change your dergt. use one with a bleach in it . and use 2nd rinse ( cold water ) make sure washer drains wash water completly . do this by cking the drain pump clean out .. if cloged it will slow the drain cycle and you will be rinsing with the wash water . also use H E dergt. . if dergt is still in clothes when drying this turns nylon yellow and whites gray .. .also seperate colors . and whites .. **** ..

Dryer turns white clothes gray.

Replace Burner.

I have the same problem, getting ready to try and tackle this. I've been told it is the burner that is the problem, a crack or cracks in the burner are letting the soot into the drum instead of venting to the outside.

Dryer blowing & rolling but no heat

There should be a little white plug on the front of the dryer. (lower left) Take that out and start the dryer. IF your ignitor is working you will be able to see it turn red through the whole. If you dont change the ignitor. then it will light the burner.
