Question about Samsung HCL552W 55" Rear Projection Television
I just replaced the STK IC's and I was not able to find any open resistors, when I brought up the screen Im getting a red shadow box about 3 inches from each side like my read is over powering or is not expanding to the whole screen. its hard to describe. if you have any sugestions i would apreciate it. thanks
You've missed one or more resistors that have changed in value if not opened - that would be my first guess... That additional load is heating the IC(s) up and causing what you've described... Either that or you got a pair of JApan knock-offs and not original Sanyo STKs.. My professional suggestion would be to have a shop do it, unless you have at the minimum a good DMM, ESR meter and 10Mz scope. You'll need to determine now which resistors have changed in value or if the problem is merely the amps themselves. Good Luck Bill
