Question about HP Deskjet F340 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Power cord is damaged and needs replaced

The power cord for my HP deskjet F340 is so damaged that it will not even plug into the back of the printer. I would like to just replace the cord, as the printer is realitively new and other than the cord, it works great. I went to the Office Depot here in Casper, WY and the clerk told me that I couldn't replace just the power cord and that if it was possible, there is "NO WAY you'll find it locally..." Is this true or was I misinformed? The problem is simple and I would think that it is not "impossible" to replace only the power cord... The printer itself has NO damage whatsoever, I believe that the end of the power cord that connect to the printer was possibly stepped an or something. Please refer me on this problem.

I am not in any way offiliated with the following website but it was the first one to come up in google

http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP,Printer,Part,09572119.aspx

bearing in mind the part is quite cheap there must be lots of places you can obtain a spare/replacement power supply...and if they are sold seperately the clerk that gave you the advice about not being able to replace just the power cord must have been having a bad day/year/lifetime

I need to find a cord that goes into my HP deskjet scanner/copier

You want a USB printer cable. You can get it at any store that sells electronics or printer supplies.
I added a link to the users setup manual so you can see what you need.

I need to find the grey power cord for my HP Deskjet F340

Computer equipment stores should have those 3 prongs power supply.
Radio shack sells them as well.
It does not have to be gray as long their the same size plugs. 95% at a time they are compatible.

I hope this helps.

F340 printer

Hi Pear,

I'm sure that this is an Hardware issue, this could be fixed by resetting the printer.

Step 1: [Power Drain]

>>Turn off the printer by disconnecting the power cord from the back and also disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet

>>Then Press and hold the ON button for 30 seconds.

>>Connect the power cord, if it did not work go to step 2.

Step 2: [ NVM Reset]

>>Take out the Ink Cartridges out.

>>While the printer is on, unhook the power cable from the back of the printer.

>>Press and hold CANCEL and PLAIN PAPER button simultaneously, while holding these two button insert the power cable and keep holding for 10-20 seconds.

>>Release the button and check the printer.

>>If the problem exist, service or replace the printer by calling HP.

Thanks

HP deskjet f340 all in one printer

its the problem in your adaptor for sure.but before going for the new adaptor please check the jack of the printer where you connect the adaptor is loose or slightly pressed inside or looks any thing like damaged.if not then try in another electric outlet.also try with different power cord wire which you connect in the adaptor the three pin adaptor.that is near about less then 2$ if you want to replace.and if still does not work then its the adaptor you have to replace.that will cost u near to $10.
