Thank-you lone99star but I have changed everything back to factory settings but seems to be the same problem. There is standard, fill, and overscan for changing the pic size but even on standard the pic is to big for the screen.

The Picture is too big for the screen. I have changed everything that I could but the picture never seems to fit the screen.

    Hi lonestar,
I was just thinking as I was logging on to the computer that maybe the xbox 360 is making the pic to big for the screen. My son just unhooked the xbox but that didn't help. Still have heads cut off. Geez I take pictures that way.LOL

Thank-you again, now I know what you mean about the aspect ratio. I went to the sight and now I have the phone number of the repair service so I can find out what has happened to the size of the picture. I have changed the aspect ratio and it is at 4.3 but still too big for screen. I am grateful for all the help you have given me and after I call the repair center I will let you know how things turned out.

You need to change the aspect ratio. From the menu try the different aspect options. Sounds as if it is set to zoom
Let me know what you find.

Is it the same with other video sources?
Can you chane the input to a dvd player or game console and see if it is dfferent.

It looks like your tv is having a problem scaling 480i, your dvd is putting out a 480p and the xbox anywhere from 480i to 1080i.
What is the signal you are having problems with? cable, satilite, antenna?

    see previous comment.
We need to figure out how if possible to set the aspect ratio to 4.3.
The Westinghouse site has some information that may be helpful.

Not easy with a older set----look to see if a physical control exists in the set for Vertical size (picture too tall) and the adjustment may only exist in a hidden on screen menu.

The picture is too big for the screen. how can i make the picture match my screen size?

Posting the model number would make a response more valid but you need to go through the main menu selection and check to see if you can alter screen resolution or geometry there. Most sets offer different views such as 'Panorama,' 'Full screen,' etc.

Picture too big for screen; cutting off top of heads and bottom of screen

Go to the picture setup of your settings menu.
Somewhere in there are options for selecting picture size.
The options will be similar to: Normal, Wide, Zoom, Stretch
You have probably selected Zoom, try Normal.

Depending on the model and manufacturer, look for a "format" or an "aspect button on the remote control. This will change the screen size from 4:3, full, zoom, etc.

Picture too big.

HDTV's come with selections that will change the screens display, on the remote press the format button and you should be able to find a setting that you desire.
