Question about Canon Laser Class 8500 Printer

Red indicator light is on. "Check Printer Door"

I checked the Printer Door by opening and shutting the door and I still can't receive any Faxes. I even tried unplugging the fax machine and that didn't work either. Do you know of a Canon repair specialist located close to our office in San Mateo, California 94403?

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

  2. Load media into the correct input tray.

  5. Check that the left side panel is completely closed. If the left side panel is completely closed, open the left side panel and push the door sensor. Occassionally, if the left side panel appears closed, the sensor will still remain in the open position, generating this error. Pushing the sensor will shut the door tight, returning the printer to the normal mode.

The red triangle light with the "!" in it keeps flashing. I've just printed some things off but now it's not printing. Need it to print obviously..


ATTENTION light(triangle): Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open, print cartridge is missing, and other errors.

If ATTENTION and READY light is blinking:

Printer initialization
The printer is initializing.
No action is necessary.

Cleaning mode
A cleaning page is printing.
Wait until the cleaning page has finished and the printer is in the Ready state.
This could take up to two minutes.

If ATTENTION and READY light is on:

Fatal error
Turn off the printer, and then unplug the printer power cord for 30 minutes.
Plug the printer power cord into the power outlet, and then turn the printer on.
If the error persists, replace the printer.

If ATTENTION light is blinking and READY light is off:

  1. Attention: door open, no print cartridge, or media jam
The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention.
Check the following:
? The print cartridge door must be completely closed.
? The print cartridge is correctly installed.
? There is no media jam.

2. Out of memoryThe printer is out of memory.
The page you are printing might be too complex for the printer's memory capacity.
Try lowering the resolution.

My printer hp laser jet 1010 series's Red Light next to the triagle keep blinking whenever i start it.


Open all doors, remove toner, reinsert toner and shut door. Shut off the printer. Wait.....Turn printer back on.

Cant send nor receive faxes

  1. Ensure that all cables are securely connected. First, make sure that the printer cable connecting your computer to your printer is connected securely. Then, make sure that the power cord is inserted into a wall outlet. Try your print job again after you have ensured that all cables are properly connected.

  2. Clear a paper jam if your printer is not responding or you are receiving a "Paper Jam" error message on your printer. To clear a jam, first open the rear output door by pushing down on the two levers on each side of the door. Opening the rear door simply makes it easier to clear a jam. Open the top cover on the front of the printer by pressing the release button on the right side of the printer. Locate the paper jam and use two hands to gently remove the paper jam. Try your print, scan, fax or copy job again.

  3. Clear stored or saved faxes if you are having trouble sending or receiving faxes. Old faxes may be stuck in the fax queue, which may be causing the printer to not respond. To remove stored faxes, press the "Menu" button on the printer and select "Fax Functions." Then select "Clear Saved Faxes." Wait for the queue to clear and try your fax job again.

  4. Remove paper from the automatic document feeder (ADF) input tray if your scan job is coming out crooked. The ADF input tray can only hold up to 50 sheets at a time. If there are more than 50 sheets in the input tray, the output may appear skewed. Try your scan job again after removing the paper.

  5. Adjust your computer monitor's display settings if your scanned image is not an accurate representation of the original image. This can be done in the "Control Panel" in Windows. Set the settings to the highest possible resolution and try your scan job again.

  6. Perform a power cycle on your printer if the previous steps were unsuccessful. To do this, turn off your printer, then unplug it from the wall. Wait a few minutes and plug the printer back in. Try your print, scan, fax or copy job again.

How to stop red blinking "paper"? couldn't stop


There is probably a paper jam since you shut it off as it was printing. Turn off the printer. Remove the tray and look inside. Remove any sheets of paper you see. Open the back of the printer (the pass-thru door) and remove any paper you see. Turn on the printer. If that fails, check the blink status against the manual's troubleshooting guide to locate a different solution.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts. Click here to see how.
  3. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
  4. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty.5. Replace Cartridge.Please rate my response!!!Thanks,SF

you need to install driver on the computer
go to start>printerandfaxes
add printer
pls add printer depends on usb or network
if you are already installed
check the printer faxes
any message below like door open
if like this you have to close door
check the correct driver installed or not

You possible had a jam or something? You should open up the ink door and the misfeed door, and double check slots to make sure nothing is jamming , then re-shut all the access doors and panels. Also try unplugging it. AS FOR OFFLINE, go to Printers and Faxes, from the control panel and right click the same Icon that is used for your printer 6800 deskjet, when you right click, go down to use printer online, and also make sure you set that printer as the default. Hope any of this helps. =)

Have brother printer HL-1440 can't get red alarm off


Check the door on the back of your printer. Behind the 1st door is a second door which will pull open. Check to see if you have a paper jam behind that 2nd door. Often that is the problem and removing the back paper jam will clear the red light.

HL 2040 paper jam light is blinking but there is no jam. the printer sounds like it dies out everytime it tries to print.


Often the paper jam light will stay on when the *back* paper jam door is not cleared.

Open up the back of your printer. There is a 2nd door behind this door that you can pull open. If there is a paper in this section, pull it out and it should clear your red light.

When clearing paper jams, clear the front first, and then if the red light is still on, you need to check the back hidden door for another piece of paper.
