My camera's view screen is blank but I can bring up the menu
At first the camera had blurry pictures the a line on the left side of the view screen. Now the screen is snowing, but not on the menu screens.
Is there anything I can do? would Cannon fix this for no cost?

Re: My camera's view screen is blank but I can bring up...
Yes. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Since you can see the menus, did you try to go to the setup menu, and adjust the brightness of the screen?
It is in the setup menu, the line under Sound settings. Try to make the display brighter and don't forget to ok that one, because otherwise nothing will be changed. OK with the ok / Func button.
better option is to reset the camera to factory reset mode simple way to do it is just press menu & find reset option in the menu ,by choosing it you will bring camera to its those modes when you purchased it without disturbing the stored data in card.try out you will be sucessful "merry chrismas "& god bless you.
Is it the viewfinder (that you hold up to your eye) or the screen that's blurry? If the viewfinder is blurry, there should be a diopter adjustment to fix it, probably right above the rubber eye cup. If the screen is blurry, you should take some pictures and video and view them on a computer. I they are sharp on the computer but blurry on the camera screen, there may be a problem with the screen and you may need to take it in for repair. If the pictures are blurry on the computer as well, the camera may not be focusing properly. If you can't focus manually, or the camera can't focus when auto focus is turned on, you have good light, and aren't too close to your subject, then it may need to be serviced.
When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.
Also try to reset the camera back to factory defaults as there could be a setting that is causing the images to be blurry. To reset the camera - have the camera in shooting mode - go to Menu - left arrow to reset and press ok. Highlight yes and press ok. This will reset the camera back to factory settings. See if this clears up the blurry images.
