MY whirlpool is also filling up and then stopping. Someone suggested to tighten the screws on the lid switch and the hole that the little L shaped switch pushes into when you put your lid down. I happened to turn the darn screw the wrong way by accident and the nut fell from behind the screw immediately and is probably lost at the bottom of my washer. Ahhhhh! I will just have to watch it and hope I can either recover the nut and remove the top cover of the basin so I can put on a new nut. Now I have two problems, only one nut and possibly still the first problem.

I am having the same problem with the spin switch. Both nuts are loose and if I couild figure out how to get the lid up, I could solve it easily. Can you tell me how to get the lid up.

    Thank you.

Heck your lid switch make sure it isnt broke and if it isnt you will need to replace the motor and pump coupler it comes with three pieces 2 nylon busshing and a rubber gromet that connects the 2 nylon pieces together very in expensive (usually under 20 bucks) you can easily purchase one at your local dealer or anywhere on line. Glad to be of service

Whirlpool washer WTW57ESVW0 won't fill with water. I bought this machine two months ago was working fine and then just stopped filling water. Spin cycle and drain cycle work but it won't start fill...

Solution for WTW57ESVW0 Whirlpool Washer that won't fill or agitate, but will spin and drain water.

Replacing the Auto Load Sensing Switch (W10177795 - Illus. No. 12 on Control and Rear Panel Parts) fixed the problem.

In addition, a defective switch can also cause the machine to start agitating while it is filling.

It is relatively easy to replace and there are online videos that can help with the replacement.

Whrilpool modle #lsq9544kq0 washer works in

Humming could mean a stalled motor. These machines also have a coupling between motor and gearbox which can fail. However, the pump is attached to the motor, so if it's not pumping it probably means the motor isn't spinning. Check motor and/or gearbox.....Nomess

Whirlpool AWO3761 stuck mid-cycle

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
