I have a Kenmore Elite Model number 110.64992300. The dryer turns on and spins but does not heat. I have the bottom panel off am looking at the heat element. What should I do to test everything? I have a multimeter and the necessary tools and the dryer is unplugged of course.

I took off the front and back panels cleaned the vents and underneath the drum. i was surprised how much lint was underneath there. turned the unit back on and i cannot seem to feel any heat transfer-just cool air. is there a simple continuity check i can do verify the heater coils are working?

You need to make sure you have 220V first all the way to the dryer. Make sure you have no blocks (lint blockage). Check your thermostats for continuity. Make sure all the wires are disconnected when testing. If they show good check your heating element not only with the ohm meter but take it out and visually inspect it. They can be bad and show continutiy.

Kenmore elite 110.7703 no heat

Hi there

From the model number it seems this machine was made by Whirlpool for Kenmore. The thermal fuse is on front bottom near the blower wheel.
a) Pop open the front panel.
b) Then remove front door panel by removing the two secrews
c) Remember to disengage the door switch wiring
d) you will see the thermal fuse near the blower compartment.
e) If thermal fuse is burned out then it should not have continuity on OHMS scale on a multimeter.

Kenmore elite model 11062952100 My dryer will not heat I replaced The thermal cutoff and high limit thermostat the dryer produce heat briefly but is not producing heat again.

There is a high limit switch (looks like a button with two wires hooked to it) on the bottom of the vent frame. When the vent fills up with lent at the bottom it gets hot. For safety, this limit switch will turn heat off. Remove the vent frame and clean it out and check the continuity of the switch. Also, make sure both heater elements are working properly.

How do I take off the back to get to elements and fuse on my kenmore elite dryer, I took screws off but the top appears to be welded.

Getting to the heating circuits is not the same on every model of dryer. Some dryers have heating circuits in the REAR of the dryer, some have the heating circuits located inside the cabinet UNDER the drum and others have heating circuits BEHIND the drum.

If your dryer has the lint screen on the TOP of the unit, you will need to remove the BACK panel of the dryer to expose the heating circuits.

If the dryer has the lint screen in the DOOR, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door by using a putty knife to release the retaining clips. They will be located along the seam in the front about 2 inches in from each side. If this is a Kenmore Elite or Whirlpool Duet, the lower toe panel comes off by removing the screws under the bottom edge of the panel.

If you do not have a toe panel, you will need to lift the dryer top and remove the entire FRONT panel to access the internal components.

If you have further questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER so I can determine how your dryer is constructed.

could have a problem with the flow meter or the pressure switch, send model number and i can look it up for you, also there should be a tech sheet in the washer, take off the bottom panel or sometime it's up top,you have to take the top off to fix it anyway, this happened to me,i took off the clear plastic hose that goes to the pressure switch,i blew into the hose gently put the hose back and the washer worked fine ever since Appliance Fault Codes go here and look up whirlpool codes, hope this helps

Dryer working but no heat

The manual says that two circuit breakers used, and that the dryer
can spin but no heat if one of them tripped, check your panel and see
if any breakers are tripped. If this was the problem, have an electrician
check the circuit.

Kenmore Elite dryer won't heat but otherwise operates normally

Make sure you have 220V. The dryer will work (no heat) if only getting 110V. Check your thermostats with your Ohm meter. Mkae sure plug is disconnected and you disconnect thermostat wires. Should have continuity. Just because you have checked your heating element and you have continuity that does not mean it is good. How can this be? Easy, sometimes they (coil in heating element) break and arch against the housing or ceramic insualtors (depending on model) and you will have continuity. This just happened to mine and without a visual inpsection of the heating element do not aaume it is good.
