Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

1 Answer

We have a samsung CLP-300 and it's about 1 year old. The status light was turning red and if I turned off the printer and re-inserted the paper tray or filled it, it would work. It was fussy like this for a couple of weeks, and now we can't get it to work by turning it off and readjusting the tray. The print quality was great and it didn't appear to be a paper jam. Any ideas on troubleshooting? Thank you Cinda Ball

Try emptying the waste toner box, the grey box at the left of the coloured carts. It worked for me. I didn't even know it had a waste toner box

Printer stops when printing should begin with red light in status

There is a few reasons that cause the status light to turn red, paper jam, paper empty, toner cartridge empty, cover open and waste toner cartridge full. The PC Smart panel utility should give you an exact fault condition. Hope this helps.

NO PAPER FEED

This is a design flaw with this printer. Try stretching and/or replacing the two coiled compression springs under the output flap of the paper tray. This should work for a few weeks, then you'll have to repeat the process. I stocked up on a few pairs of springs at Ace Hardware.

It's a shame, because the print quality on this printer is superb, considering the price, but dealing with this issue is a real pain. I've replaced the springs 3 or 4 times, and I haven't even used up one toner cartridge yet. I'm on the lookout for a replacement low cost color printer. I would never buy a Samsung printer again.

Samsung clp 300 won't pull paper out of paper tray, after several reloads, printer runs for 1 min, then shuts down (red status light), all rollers are clean, a jam did not start this problem it just quit...

I understand the rollers are clean but are they viable to pick up single sheets. I dont think it can due to no matenance to the rubber on the rollers themselves.

Go to fixyourownprinter.com and purchase the "rejuvination roller" jar. With this product, you must use a qtip and dip some of the solution on it. Then rub down all rubber rollers and let it sit dry for about 14 minutes. After that, you can do a test and you will see that the rollers gained their feel to print single sheets again or pull out paper again

Red light staying on

I have my printer for over 2 years now and the red light regularly lighted up. So i opened the printer a few times, I shook the toner, unplugged the printer.. And this always worked.

Last week even that didn't do the trick anymore, so I was looking online what the problem could be.

Turns out, all you have to do is take the far left disposable canister out. (the little handle on the far left) Throw out all the toner that's in there, and plug it back in. (The canister is like a waist bin and it was full)

Now the printer is doing just fine.

The status light is red, what do I do?

Check the following: Are ink bottles installed correctly. Are all doors closed properly, Check paper is not jammed. Is the dust collector unit full, its next to the blue ink, pull out and shake over bin. I have had a 300 for 3 years and my red light has come on, I did all the above and am off to buy a CLP 315, Harvy Norman $198. Good luck.

Samsung CLP-300 picking up too many pages

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Paper jam is a very common problem with the printers.

First of all clean off the rubber piece that pulls the paper into the printer from the tray with rubbing alcohol, and also take a knife to the rubber piece to rough it up to create more traction.

To clear the paper jam problem you need to remove the back roller mechanism to get at paper. If still the problem persists, then check the following to resolve the issue--

1. Please check all interlocks, electrical and signal connections are seated properly.
2. Front cover, back cover and lid are closed properly.
3. Power plug and USB cable are connected.
4. Printer is turned on with switch on the back.
5. Toner signal lights sequenced, with yellow overall led on.
6. There is some noise of paper roller movement.
7. Toner signal lights all out, overall status light turned to red
8. No visible paper in paper tray or anywhere else.
9. No paper in tray---added paper
10. Waste toner container is full or not installed ---empty, installed properly.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Samsung CLP-300

Open all the covers and close all of them , See any changes if not remove the toner cartridges and see any paper jam in the tray or else. If nothing works out see any sensor is broken physically and update me.
