Mitsubishi 65" Rear Projection

All the sudden my display automatically switches from standard to expanded view. I reset to factory defaults and the issue still occurs. Unplugged overnight and problem still occurs. DVD's cable doesn't matter. No signal input at all and it just starts switching. Tech coming in a week. Any help is greatly appreciate it.

Possibly bad buttons. unplug the connector ZF behind the speaker grill of the tv. you might need to take the panel off behind the grill to get to the connector. if your problem ceases then you most likely have bad buttons intermittently shorting.

How to reset factory settings ws 65517

If you contact Mitsubishi the set has three hidden menus---convergence adjust, circuit adjust and OPTION MENU.

Each model uses a four digit code with menu and for example 4750 and in the Option menu is the option to do the hard reset for the set---

The wipes all labels (dvd etc) and puts set back to default on all factory settings.

You might find it if you GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with option menu after it...........

Will not stay on., Automatically turns off.

Try pressing in both the menu and device/input buttons in together on the front of the set and hold for 5 seconds to see if the led will blink a two digit error code such as 2 blinks then a pause then two more blinks followed by a pause which would indicate a 22 error. Then let me know what the blink code was if any.

Red convergence problem - Mitsubishi 65

It sounds like your red gun might be close to going, we had the same problem our tv. The red was off and couldnt really be adjusted but the others were alright. We were told that the red gun was nearing the end of its life and it could cost upwards of $1000 to fix, so we just got a new tv. i would suggest having a tv tech come out and look just to make sure, but thats wut it sounds like.

Use the Setup menu to select English or Spanish as
the language for the menus and on-screen displays.
Adjust Color Balance Automatically or manually
(PerfectColor TM) using six colors, Magenta, Red, Yellow,
Green, Cyan and Blue. Reset the Color Balance to the
factory default settings. Align the focus (convergence)
of the TV's projected light beams or reset the focus to
the factory default settings.
