The only way to reset it is to unplug it. I have unplugged it for 1 minute. The problem remains. It is just out of warranty about 2 years old.

HP Deskjet 960C Series error code 90020503

The error code 90020503 on an HP Deskjet 960C Series printer typically indicates a paper jam or an issue with the paper feed mechanism. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the error:
  1. Check for paper jams: Open the printer's access doors and carefully remove any jammed paper. Make sure to check all areas of the printer, including the input and output trays, as well as the rear access panel.
  2. Clear any obstructions: Look for any foreign objects or debris that may be blocking the paper path or causing the error. Gently remove any obstructions that you find.
  3. Reset the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This will perform a power cycle, which can often resolve temporary issues.
  4. Check paper condition: Ensure that the paper you are using is not wrinkled, folded, or damaged. Straighten out any curled edges and make sure the paper is properly aligned in the tray.
  5. Adjust paper guides: Verify that the paper guides in the input tray are adjusted correctly to fit the size of the paper being used. Improperly adjusted paper guides can cause paper jams or feeding issues.
  6. Clean the paper feed rollers: Over time, paper dust and debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers, causing them to slip and result in paper feed problems. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol.

Documate error 8

Hello.

I am a Support Engineer with Xerox Scanners.

E8 is a Paper Jam error that could be caused by:
- paper crumpling during scan.
- paper is multi-feeding all at once instead of feeding separate.
- scanner continuously tries to feed after paper has fed through.

if the paper is crumpling during the scan, make sure the inside of the scanner is clear of any obstructions. use the paper guides in the ADF tray to keep the paper straight when feeding in.

if the paper is multifeeding while scanning, fan out the pages before inserting them into the scanner. if problem persists, try cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth.

if scanner tries to continually feed after the paper feeds through, the ADF tray will need to be reseated. open the scanner and remove the ADF tray at the top. line up the 4 keys at the bottom of the tray with the 4 corresponding key slots inside the scanner. push the tray back until it clicks into place.

HP Laserjet Error Codes 0 - 19 Message on printer Display Panel What it means. What to do. 13.XX PAPER JAM [LOCATION] Media is jammed at the specified location (and possibly at other locations). If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation. 13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. Ensure that paper trays are loaded and adjusted properly so media can feed from the tray. It might be necessary to reduce the stack height of media in the tray. 2. Check the input area for obstructions such as media in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly damaged or unseated. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. I'm trying to print but it keeps coming up with an error message paper jam, remove jam paper and press start. There's no paper jam and it won't print. I have try talking out the paper from the feeding tray...

Please remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer driver software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
If the printer shows a jamming error then check the input of the paper feed as there can be some foreign objects that is obstructing the detector opto-coupler or the detect switch. clean and check or the sensor is faulty.

Says a front paper jam but no paper jammed any where

Your paper feder belt has ink on it and will not feed the paper. Remove the rubber belt and clean it good and clean and use compressed air on the printer tray area. If this does not work open the front feeder tray and set your computer to print from it. After about 500 copys it will normally have c leaned itself and be ready to feed from the main roller.

HP PSC 2355 All-in-One Operating Problem

Introduction When the all-in-one detects a paper jam, the display will read, " Paper jam: Press OK to continue ." The computer might display the following message: " There is a paper jam (or misfeed). Clear the jam and press the Enter, Resume or OK button on the HP PSC. " This document will assist in correcting paper feed problems such as paper jamming, print slanting, and multiple pages feeding into the all-in-one. Clearing paper jams CAUTION: All paper jams must be removed from the back of the all-in-one through the rear access door. Pulling the paper from the front of the unit rotates the paper feed roller in the wrong direction and can cause damage to the all-in-one.
  1. Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord.
  2. Turn the all-in-one around so the back of the unit is facing out.
  3. Open the rear access door:
    1. Locate the tab on the left side of the door and press it toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    2. As the door shifts to the right, pull the door out slightly to release.
    3. When the door is released, gently remove the door by sliding the door out and to the left.
Figure 1: Removing the rear access door c00212276.jpg
  4. Inspect the pressure rollers on the access door. They should be clean and rotate easily. If needed, clean the rollers with a soft lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled water preferred). If the rollers do not rotate easily, they may need to be replaced.
  5. From the access door opening, gently remove the jammed paper.
  6. Remove the paper stack from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper damaged or bent.
  7. Re-stack the reload the paper into the paper supply tray. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.
  8. Re-seat the rear access door:
    1. Insert the two posts on the right of the door into the holes on the right side of the opening (as shown in the figure below).
    2. Press the tab on the left side of the door toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    3. As the door shifts to the right, push in the left side of the door to lock it into position.
Figure 2: Rear access door posts c00212277.jpg
  9. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the unit.
Causes of recurring paper feed problems If paper feed problems occur repeatedly, one of the following might be the cause:
  • Something is obstructing the paper or print cartridge path. Open the cover of the all-in-one and check for obstructions.
  • The rear access door is unlocked or improperly seated. Follow the steps above to remove and re-seat the access door.
  • The paper width guide is not positioned against the paper. Adjust the paper width guide against the edge of the paper.
  • The paper is not supported. Paper should be flat and smooth with no folded, torn, or rough edges. Some glossy and/or coated papers, or reused paper (already printed on one side) can experience a higher incident of paper feed issues.
  • The paper tray is not fully extended.
  • The paper feed rollers need cleaning. Over time paper fibers and dust will stick to the rollers and should be removed. See instructions for cleaning the rollers below.
Paper jam message displays but no paper is jammed The print carriage might be jammed. Follow these steps to correct the problem:
  1. With the power on, lift the print cartridge access door. The print carriage should move to the access area located on the right. If the print carriage stays all the way left, reset the unit by unplugging the then plugging in the power cord. If the carriage still does not move to the right, continue with the steps below.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
  3. Remove both print cartridges.
  4. Push the print carriage slightly to the left and then to the right to verify that the print carriage is not jammed. If the print carriage will not move, check for obstructions under and around the carriage.
  5. Close the print cartridge access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord.
  7. When the " Insert Print Cartridges " message displays, open the print cartridge access door and insert the print cartridges. Verify that both cartridges are seated correctly and lock into position.
  8. If the error recurs, contact HP for assistance.
Envelopes The envelope flap can move with the grip of the rollers and cause paper feed problems. Use envelopes with a rectangular flap and/or tuck the flap inside the envelope when printing. The print is skewed or crooked A small amount of skewing is not unusual with printers. When there is too much skewing, the following steps can help reduce the amount.
  1. Adjust the paper width guide to fit against the edges of the paper stack.
  2. Verify that the rear access door is properly seated and locked into position.
  3. Remove the rear access door and clean the paper feed rollers (see the instructions at the bottom of this document).
More than one sheet of paper feeds in at the same time Several paper caused problems can result in more than one page feeding into the unit. Check the list below:
  • Reused paper (paper already printed on one side)
  • Torn or folded paper
  • Textured or coated paper
  • Unsupported specialty paper
To determine if the paper is causing problems, try using clean, undamaged sheets of plain white 70 - 90 g/m2 (20 - 24 pound) inkjet paper, such as HP Multipurpose or Bright White paper. If this paper feeds correctly, the problem is probably with the other paper. Cleaning the paper feed rollers Over time dust and paper fibers will accumulate on the paper feed rollers. This can cause paper feed problems. Follow the steps below to clean the rollers: Figure 3: Paper feed rollers c00212278.jpg
  1. Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord.
  2. Remove the rear access door (as describe above in this document).
  3. Clean each roller using a clean lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled water preferred). Rotate the rollers to clean the entire surface.
  4. Verify that the paper feed rollers on the rear access door are clean and rotate easily.
  5. Re-seat the rear access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord and turn on the all-in-one.
