Try re-installing the audio driver.
The same model Lenovo can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your Lenovo, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

Hi There,

You need to update the sound drivers on your laptop, because the sound drivers on your computer is for XP and the drivers that you must be having should be for xp. So download and install the latest version of audio drivers for your computer.

Please follow the below link and download the sound drivers respective to your laptop,

http://notebook-drivers-download.com/

Note : If your computer manufacturer's name is not listed in this website, then you might have to visit the manufacture's official website to download the latest audio drivers for your computer.

Enjoy installing the sound drivers and enjoy listening to some good music. !!!!

Pls help me with my sound,i cant listen to music.i reinstalled window XP and thenwhen the system finaly came up i found out that i can no longer hear any sound when i try to play an audio cd

You need to install the audio driver to hear sounds. You need to identify the audio card and if you do not have the audio driver CD, then you can download it from the manufacturers WEB site.

Sound card won't work with external input

Are you trying to record and listen at the same time? It doesn't usually work that way, the computer has to process and encode the audio signals before they can be listened to. Once you restore the computer, are you able to listen to the recording? If you have onboard sound, rather than a separate sound card, all the audio processing is done by your CPU. If you are trying to listen to the audio as it is being recorded, you are probably overloading the capabilities of the device and its shutting itself down. Try to record without listening. Also make sure you have the latest drivers. If it is onboard audio, check the manufacturer's website for updates. If you know that it is Realtek AC 97 (probably says so your manual), you can download new drivers from the Realtek website.

No sound

go into DEVICE MANAGER AND LOCATE SOUND AUDIO AND INSTALL UPDATED DRIVER, OR GO TO control panel and see if sound/audio reflects your card being there.
