Question about Dual XDMR7700 CD Player
I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I had the same problem with my dual receiver. Only, it wasn't just the volume, it was most of the controls. It only happened when it was cold out. Hit the "mute" button...mute on, mute off. You may have to do this a few times.

I have the same problem and I know what happen?. The problem is originated because of the "electrical connection" between the movil face and the equipment. It is a "plastic wire" that is broken. I am looking for how to fix it or where to buy it, but I am afraid that I will have to change my cd player. I am waiting for an answer from Dual Electronics. If somebody has a comment or suggestion, please write me to email@example.com Thanks

My volume works if I close the face, so I think it may be the main face contact is shot. Try closing your face and turning the radio down with the knob.

NO SUGGESTION TO YOU, BUT MINE JUST STARTED DOING THE SAME THING TODAY. IT STILL WORKS CORRECTLY WITH THE REMOTE, FOR NOW! I CALLED DUAL. THEY OFFER AN EXCHANGE FOR OUT OF WARRANTY UNITS, BUT THE EXCHANGE COSTS MORE THAN I PAID FOR THE ORIGINAL. I REALLY LIKE THE FEATURES OF THIS UNIT, IT'S UNFORTUNATE ABOUT THE NON-REPAIRABLE VOLUME CONTROL
