See if the problem is connected with the cord, then replace the cord.

Why does my bose wave radio turns itself off every twenty minutes?

I am not sure how to fix your radio; but my wave radio wasn't working and I took it into a Bose store and got an excellent trade in for a new one. I traded a wave radio without a CD player for a new Wave radio with a CD player. I would take your radio into the nearest Bose store.

Shows disc error when first plugged in and won't accept a dvd. tried turning it off and back on, tried, unplugging it and plugging it back in, tried upside down and sideways. The case is off and there is...

I don't think Bose Wave radio accepts DVDs, only CDs.
You could always try tihs: (you may loose all settings!)

To perform a master reset, do the following.

1. Press and hold Alarm Time (Menu) until -SETUP MENU- is displayed.

2. Press Tune/MP3 > seven times until RESET ALL- NO is displayed.

3. Press Time - or Time + to change RESET ALL- NO to RESET ALL- YES.

4. When PRESS 2 TO CONFIRM appears on the display, press Presets button 2. When the reset is complete, DEFAULTS RESET is displayed.

5. Press Alarm Time (Menu) to exit the setup menu or wait 10 seconds for the setup menu to end automatically.

My bose wave radio wont turn on. It has no power

I have the exact same AWR1-1W model for repair last week. I am assuming you have a meter and you also have soldering skills here.
You might want to check the Q4 transistor (2SC3792) for a short on the two outide pins. With the power disconnected, measure with a multimeter the resistance between the two outside pins of the Q4 transistor. If you measure anything between 0-3 ohms it is shorted. Replace this part with a similar part or you could replace it with the new Bose recommended part - 2SD438F-MP-E but it is very hard to obtain. I have used an 2SC2655 instead and had no problems so far with the radio. This radio also came in totally dead with no display nor the radio working.

You didn't mention which model of the Wave Radio you have but since you have a 9V battery it narrows it down to a couple of models. I have a bose awrc1p radio display light changes

This could be the battery causing the display to act strangely. If the radio still works audio-wise, the following should fix the display: The older model wave radios have either a 9v or 3 AA batteries (accessible from the bottom). Remove any battery, and reset the system by unplugging the power cord for about 40 seconds. Plug it back in without the battery attached. If the problem goes away- replace the battery or batteries. (which is only there to hold the clock time, presets etc when not plugged in) BTW- you'll have to set the clock, alarm, presets etc after this procedure. If the problem doesn't go away, call Bose. I think they can repair this for $99 and/or offer a new one as a trade-in discounted.

Bose wave radio won't turn on

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monpoly on repair of these units. Their web site, www.bose.com, offers to repair most Wave radios for $100 or to provide a $200 allowance towards purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend the big bucks on theis trouble-prone product though, you might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound and MUCH lower prices than Bose.
