- Not running (not cooling, but inside lights work, ice maker not working, ice crusher doesn't work, water wont dispense)
Press and hold for at least 10 seconds
Ice type button + Filter Reset button
Console should light up.
This is not documented *anywhere* on the web (until now). Best of luck
Replace the main control board . Pt # WR55X10942 is the part number . The dispenser board has lost communication with the main board . The main control board is behind the refrig , behind the small 8X10 inch panel . There are 6-8 group plugs which will only fit in perspective plugins , so this board is easily replaceable . Cost of board is about $150.00 .
You have a supply voltage issue on your main board. This is located at the back of the refrigerator in a small compartment. You can get the part and replace it yourself, just make sure you un-plug the fridge before you start the project. It is pretty simple to do, so give it a shot. Good luck!!
Before you replace the Water Valver - Shut your water off - disconnect the water line to the from the back of the refrigerator at the top where it goes into the icemaker. I used zip tie or something flexable to see if it would go all the way through to the tube inside the refrig. If you have obstruction - use your hair dryer to thaw the ice from inside the refrigerator tube. When the flexable goes all the way through. Hook back the water line to the icemaker. You will have ice soon. If still no ice, replace the water Inlet valve.
some models of this refrig have a lcok out feature on the dispenser look for a padlock symbol on the dispenser console and make sure its unlocked. if it s not locked out you may have a broken switch bracket behind the console cover. when you press the levers listen very closely and you should hear a click noise letting you know the dispenser switch has activated. Let me know if you have any further questions thanks Peyton
your refrig has a solenoid that opens and closes a flapper in the bucket to bypass the ice crushers look on the bottom of the ice container and there is a brass rod that is bent at the end. if yo will find where the end of that rod inserts into the dispenser motor inside the freezer there is a saddle that has most likely frozen in the up position. you can use a hair dryer to warm the area up and pull the saddle back to the down position. its kind of hard to tell you with out pics but hopefully you get an idea of wht i'm trying to describe..
Your problems are the power board for sure. I have the same refrigerator and have read dozens of forums and advise pages looking for answers. If you let the problem countinue your fridge will completely stop cooling and all your food will be trash as has happened to me.
Symptoms: Fan in the back starts to make click or flopping sound as it tries to start up. Ice despenser doesent despense ice. water works sometimes. Eventually you notice your food defrosting partially and then refreezing as the defrost timer stops working which is controlled by the power board. Light dims and pulses when you hold the Ice despencer in. If you remove the light for the dispencer your water will work fine as long as the fan isnt making the clicking noise. Fan will eventually start up and run.
