Have you checked to make sure that keyway is installed between electric motor and pump. also adjustment on unloader valve may be incorrect. If the big brass nut on the unloader is able to be turned by hand, then this is probably your problem (running pressure and spike pressure needs to be set and locked down using a pressure guage). does water come out of nozzle at all? if not, tip being stopped up may be the problem. trash between unloader ball and seat can also cause no pressure (usually caused by a burr left inside brass pieces during the manufacturing process). I have seen all the check valves stuck on a brand new unit from sitting on the shelf for so long, but this is usually the case with General Pumps.

If this unit has set for that long has you have rust inthe end of the nozzle. take it of or undo the wane and soak it in CLR this will take the rust out. GOOD LUCK....

Water comes out the nozzle, but low pressure? ( more than when the motor is not running)
I would check the check valves and the unloader.
If the amount of water coming out the nozzle is the same when the motor is running or not running.
Either the key that connects the motor shaft to the pump shaft is sheared, or the pump is trash.
No water comes out the nozzle would indicate a clogged inlet filter or blockage at the gun valve or nozzle.

Kacher machine K2.98

So when you are using the machine & keeping the trigger pulled open the machine builds up to pressure then knocks off all the time.
If this is so the machine is not at fault & is doing what it is meant to do & protect its self from over pressuring & the fault is in the nozzles you are using.
You need to check the nozzle size is correct for the machine & also airline the nozzle to clear of any dirt.
Thanks qwashers

My pressure washer will not mix with detergent

First you need to see if you have to utilize a soap nozzle normally black in color and with a large orifice that should create low pressure and or a selective change over nozzle with a spray pattern of 65 degrees. If so then you may have a clogged port where the chemical line connects to pump inside there is a check valve with a ball bearing that may be stuck from previous use without rinsing, free the ball by letting water flow with no trigger gun connected just water coming out of hose engine off and insert a nail or pin long enough to push the ball that is in the barb carefully til you hear ******* good luck.

There is a valve installed to release water out of the system if water temp. rises to a level that may damage the pump. Water temp will rise when motor is running and you are not spraying water. This part is called a thermal valve. It can begin to leak water if worn out or debris under seat, however may not effect a lower pressure at the wand unless it leaks more water when you are spraying than when in bypass. You can see various thermal valves by searching on ebay with the key words :
"pressure washer thermal valve". Pressure is created at the tip of the wand. If the nozzle at the wand is worn or too large for the system, pressure will be reduced. You can check if the tip is correct by using a different tip that came with your system or using new of correct gpm as noted on the specs. of your system. Good luck

When using the sweep nozzle (yellow tip), the pressure starts and stops but the machine works fine when using the circluar nozzle(red)

usually when the power washer pressure stops the machine is running out of water. the sweep function uses a little more water than the round wash tip. Make sure there are no leaks in the supply hose and that the supply faucet is turned on all the way and has plenty of "flow". also make sure the water connection at the washer is not leaking. use a new rubber washer to make a good seal on the supply hose on both ends. if either end leaks or can **** air, just a little bit of air into the pressure washer will cause it to loose pressure.

No pressure out of wand have water flow old style wand no turbo motor runs good sounds like it should be full pressure

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
From your description of the problem:
"motor runs good sounds like it should be full pressure" This sounds like the wand nozzle is clogged behind the nozzle. Remove the nozzle and check for debris behind the nozzle face. All it takes is for a tiny piece of particulate to block the nozzle orifice. (Dig out what ever you find behind the orifice. After you check and re-test the nozzle if you still have the problem there is a lot more that can be done to troubleshoot. I just think you have a clogged nozzle at this time. If the nozzle was not clogged... respond here and I will pass on more information. I think we can easily correct this problem.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Motor running, water supply adequate but when

clean whole water supply and outlet from all debris, clean inlet filter as well. connect water and pressurise washer, pull trigger and wait about 3sec for pump to activate, if pump do not activate adn you have pressure from nozzle as it will be from main, this determines pressure sensor (it is extremelly rare for pump itself) is damaged.

check if you have still warranty, this will qualify as warranty repair, if warranty is expired, pressure sensor need to be replaced.

if you find my advice useful, please do not hesitate to leave your remarks and vote for me, thanx!
